First of all, submit your site to every hosting directories around. You can then offer a good deal to start. This is a great way to get your name know. And the more people know you, the more chances you have to get leads because mouth to mouth is a pretty good way to get leads. You can also make an affiliation with someone with a site webmaster-related (i.e. free hosting for a banner). Then, you can advertise in place like Google. Also, your communauty is a good way to get new clients.

Good Luck!

Tony, I think it's not a good idea to offer hosting at "retail" when you are not truly interested in the business. Having many small customers to pay off 3 dedicated servers will require much support/billing/technical efforts on your part. If you don't offer the good service, they will move on and you get the bad reputation.

I think it's best for you if you do one of the folowing:
1) Work out a deal with a host to give you discounts in return for advertisement or for sharing your servers with you!
2) Get a few (very limited number) of bigger sites who want half-server solutions.

Where might I find customers like this??? I like my dedicated servers because they are MINE -- you know? don't want to be sharing them..

IMHO:

The best way to get customers is to offer cheap reseller plans and let the resellers do the job for you. But, you will still need outstanding support (sales, tech support).

You have to be FULL of enthusiasm to offer hosting at a really low price. It's a challenge that someone has to do!

If you really want to lease the servers with "just getting you money back", then lease them out in one go. That is the only way you will get your support efforts to be the absolute minimalist.
