I came across the website and signed up for it. How can i be sure they are authentic. No offense meant to the owners but i am a bit worried about sharing stuff like that with everyone.[could get me into a lot of trouble.]
Anyone been in contact them or using them???

I would be leery about posting any of my customer information, no matter what they might have done (illegal activities notwithstanding).

What means "nothwithstanding"? Is it you wouldn't post your customer data, even if customer did something illegal?

I think, if I was a host ;) I'd post information if client is a real crook...

notwithstanding

preposition : in spite of; despite.

conjunction : in spite of the fact that; although.

adverb : all the same; nevertheless; even so.

I'm not quite sure it is being used properly, but easier wording:

I would be leery about posting any of my customer information, no matter what they might have done ([except for] illegal activities).

Hi Chicken,

leery adj : openly distrustful and unwilling to confide [syn: mistrustful, suspicious, untrusting, wary]

or

leer·y adj. leer·i·er, leer·i·est

Suspicious or distrustful; wary: was leery of aggressive salespeople.

It's not used out of context.

there are a couple of other sites that apparently got started during a random thread on webhostdir, and discussions on an ISP mailing list. I don't know about hostabuse, but the other two just started up without seeking legal counsel or seeming to feel that what they were doing was somewhat questionable.

I'd be leery of publishing information about customers to a site that is not regulated, accredited, etc. Just because you have the capability to set up a site and gather information about people who caused problems for you, doesn't mean that you have the legal right to.

I tried signing up for it and haven't heard from them. Either they think i am not legit or something. But a email rejecting my application would have been nice.
you mention two others are they just a information sharing resource. I am not very keen on publishing numbers and details on forums because we are doing exactly what the carders are doing in the long run. letting numbers out there. I feel forums like these should be used to share resources eg new software and innovations that might aid the general 'merchant' population online.
by the way thanks for that Planet Z.!!!
