View Full Version : Russian TATU on Jay Leno - the truth.
Artashes 02-26-2003, 01:08 PM Yesterday night by total accident I caught TATU (Russian pop-group) on Jay Leno. For those who don't know - TATU are two young lesbian-type girls singing all kind of crap.
Anyways, they were dressed the same and they both had a shirt with Russian words on it: "Υσι Βξινε!". Of course no one knew what they meant...
Here is the translation (to make the perfect sense out of it - here is what it meant in English): "F*ck No to Your War"..
Here I don't know whether they meant Russian war in Chechnya or Bush's War on Iraq. I think the second one would be more logical.
Oh, man, was I laughing... LOL :D
PS: if there are other Russian-speaking members on WHT, maybe they'll correct the translation into a better one, but this is my best try.
Best,
MDJ2000 02-26-2003, 01:28 PM "Bush's War on Iraq"... guess we know where you stand
Nobody, particulary Russians could possibly care about the atrocities against those dirty Chechyans, right?
Funny too, how many people have died in that fight, compare that number to the number that have died in what you dub "Bush's war or Iraq". Seen any pictures of Grozny lately? And no, I'm not excusing the Chechyan seperatists actions either. Just noting a double standard.
Artashes 02-26-2003, 03:46 PM Hey, man, I was just translating what was on their shirts.
If you ask for my personal opinion - I think they should bomb all the Middle East to pieces and make resort areas instead.
Although on a more serious note, I don't want to see innocent civilians dead. Just those who make control over the population possible. One of my tennis partners is Iraqi and he says most people in Iraq hate Saddam and wants to see him dead just as much, but bombing is not a good option.
Best,
MDJ2000 02-26-2003, 03:48 PM Apologies then, I misinterpreted your statement.

Have you compared numbers? Counting number of dead from before the first gulf war till now (U.S. has been bombing targets on a weekly basis all this time - unlike what most people think). The number of dead Iraqis exceed 2 million civilian women and children. I don't know the excact number of Chechyans, but I'd guess it's atleast a fair fight.
Lirath 02-26-2003, 06:21 PM Let's not turn this into a debate.
If that is the correct translation of those shirts, you can bet Leno might recieve a little bit a crap about it..
filburt1 02-26-2003, 06:22 PM Why does every single thread here that happens to mention vile words like Iraq, Bush, oil, Saddam, etc. turn into a fierce debate when the first post is just making a joke or pointing out something funny they saw?

100% exactly what it was meant to be. Just a laugh. :D
PS: Somebody must have probably told Jay what it meant after the show...
