many years ago, i made the mistake of getting my site registered by Steve Gunnels at fidpac.

aka www.super.nu

<< this is the result of my WHOIS query at Register.com you can read steves name there. >>
http://suncitystreetscene.net/images/registercom.gif

i now have a good hosting solution with amy at E-starr.com (she and jay have helped alot!)
how do i remove steve gunnels from my technical contact listing?

he will not change over my name servers to point to my new host with Amy without charging me $35 ... charge me for what???

last time there was no charge?!

<< i read all about Steve and business super.nu and just completed my BBB complaint >>

i know this and that about web design and whatever, but i dont know what my nameservers are for, nor do i know what role Steve plays with my domain name.
but due to the many bad comments ive read about him and super.nu, i wish to change, but change why? and change to where? what?

Get away he is known for causing domain problems. You pay for a domain and he puts it in his name. Find another tucows (even tucows.com) register and transfer the name away from him. I am sure the people at E-Starr can help.

Since he is only listed as the technical contact you should have no problem transferring the domain name.

i dont really know what im doing.
i registered the site 3 1/2 years ago.

since then, ive have about 5 hosts and always contacted Steve by email to make the changes to nameservers.

once, i did it by my self, which was last year.

i just went to REGISTER.COM, and there is a link that says SWITCH TO REGISTER ... is that what i should do?

You can use register.com. They are a little pricey($35 a year). Since the domain is already part of the tucows/opensrs system I would suggest going to tucows registration site http://www.domaindirect.com/index.html. Select transfer a domain and follow the directions.

After the order is processed you and steve gunnels with both recieve an email from tucows about accepting the transfer. As long as one of the listed contacts admin, billing, or technical responds yes, the domain will be transferred.
