Is there a WHT way of keeping unwanted persons out of your thread. I mean even when you post no comments, unwanted persons still feel the need to comment in your thread.
I am sure this has been brought up before, if there is a sure fire solution I would love to hear it.

A Fire Extinguisher should clear out those flames. But it seems they're all expired here at WHT :(

The purpose of the forums is so that everyone can state their opinion(s), but if you find a post you don't like, click the report link attached to every post so that it can be looked at ;)

Well, two schools of thought here. For one, you're not putting up a banner ad at the top of the page, you're posting an ad in a discussion forum. Naturally, people will comment unless we lock all threads (which isn't going to happen). We have left threads open so that people can ask questions, etc.
That said, the ad forum is not a place to rip apart people's sites or post unrelated garbage about you, your offer, etc. if this happens, simply report the post and we'll look at it ASAP. If we agree with your concern, that post (or posts) will be removed.
The only sure fire way of preventing this is to utilize advertising methods in which people cannot reply to the offer (such as banner advertising, etc.)
UPDATE: i looked a your last ad posted and think I understand what you mean. That thread has been cleaned and simply report those and we'll remove comments like that. No problem.
I do see your point about it being a public forum, and I do respect that everyone does have an opinion.
It's just nice to not have to have a thread ruined then have to wait another 5 days to post it again.
I don't mind constructive critism, but that specific post did not offer any and took the thread off base.
I appriciate you taking care of this, chicken as usual you are on top of moderating this forum.
My thanks.

No problem, but unfortunately due to the move and about 60 other things I simply haven't been able to moderate as much as in the past and that doesn't look to be getting any better in the near future (no magic 'more free time' tree planted in the backyard). I admit that I tend to be a perfectionist and subscribe to the theory that if one can't do something well, then they shouldn't do it at all. Doing as much as I can.

It's even more fun when you get dedicated Stalkers who make it their obsession to stalk and troll you. Not much you can do and most times they're anonymous and therefore have nothing to lose. Just add them to your ignore list and get on with your success. :)

As a moderator, you unfortunately don't have the luxury of an ignore list. :bawling:
Then there are the chrisb-types who you remove one minor post by them where they flamed another member and they freak out, post over and over about how you suck and should be removed, and then follow you onto other sites and post inaccurate and disgustingly racists posts like...

Crappy forum, btw, but if fits Chicken to a tee. I hear he lives in Hawthorne, CA so he's probably a nasty Chicano, or he could be black.
What's amazing is that these people are actually walking around amongst the general population and you can't tell who they are (not specifically who they actually are, just these types of 'people' -term used lightly).

That is even more scary  I wonder if their parents know what their little darlings are really like! :argue: I also wonder if they really get a buzz out of making things worse for themselves.
