Plesk is develping a new version with lots of new features - so they say.

One of them:

The ability for the client to add their own domains. The admin can set how many, like the emails. For resellers, this isn't a bad idea. But what about transfer and d/space? umm, well... I won't say more.

One feature I'd like to see is the ability for the client to add their own sub-domains. Admins will know what a pain in the butt this is.

How's this, they recon clients will be able to setup sub-domains using -only- the method I described above.

NO! NO! NO! NO!

Many people moan about the limited PSA features. If you would like to see a more feature"ish" PSA, send your requests to them now.

I also urge you to bring up the issue of sub-domains.

Sounds good!

Have they given a date for the release of version 2?

Plesk looks like an ideal package and the reseller option is exactly what we are looking for....

1 point however....we'd rather just have the control panel itself and not have to take whatever version of Apache etc that they bundle with it!

How come it comes this way?

Cheers,

Check back in late July

Re Apache:

No, that wouldn't be possible. If you want to stay independent in terms of web server software version, you may want to use webmin or probably someone else has a solution for you.
