I dont know about you , but these problems are unacceptable to me. I rather spend a couple more bucks and sign up for a gateway , this way your batches settle nightly and you always have your funds with out saome lame excuse, plus the percentage is always lower then 3rd party sHosts 02-25-2003, 07:07 PM 2checkout has been great for us so far. We did encounter a few problems here and there but they have been resolved. VNPIXEL 02-25-2003, 07:56 PM I still have to stick with 2checkout. Don't like them but can't find any other better than them. :( Just like women. You can't live with them but you can't live without them. *Sign* Goliath 02-25-2003, 08:44 PM Yeah, but 2checkout is almost twice as expensive as PayPal. 5.5% vs 2.9%. Knock paypal all you want, I don't think it's ever as good as a real CC processor either, but if you charge $30 per account, and do payments on a yearly basis, that's a $10.44 charge per each client for PayPal versus $19.80 for 2checkout. For just the difference in the two, you could almost knock of $1 a month for your clients. Now, if you check out www.hostcharge.com, all they do is accounts for hosts and resellers. Their lowest fee is 4%, if you pay a monthly fee and on up to 8% with no charges. Figure it this way, if you get at least one good paying client a week, hostcharge can save you a lot of money. Not sure about their reliability or any problems. Would be nice to hear about experieces with them. DkAir 02-25-2003, 10:19 PM I use propay.com sprintserve 02-25-2003, 10:23 PM Frankly, I rather pay more and not have have to worry that Paypal will freeze my account, or take my money and return to the client without due investigation as had really happened. I offer it only as an alternative and most people pay by credit card and do not want to go through the trouble of paying by Paypal since they still have to register and such. KualoJo 02-26-2003, 12:11 AM WorldPay hasn't had a single problem for us. Reliable through and through. They are, however, on the more expensive side of the 3rd parties. I see no reason to pay double the fees for a method of payment that doesn't really have double the advantages. So they can freeze my account and tell me I have to pay them. I don't keep any money in my account. All money is transferred out immediately. They'll never see a dime from me if they pull any crap. But, I'm only with them now because I've yet to find a price competitive alternative. Still looking... akash: Thanks for the info. I read more about them and saw the bi-monthly payments. I'm a show me the money now type of person. Checks in the mail tend to get lost. I'll look into worldpay as a possible future alternative. They should fix their 'apply' link, and keep promise to bring service online. I prefer Propay, but Propay only works for US. kneadingu 03-01-2003, 09:58 PM where else you gonna get 2.9%+30 cent transaction fee. Immediate access to your money and/or MC debit card tied to your account. Without mind you having to pay 50-250 in application fees plus terminal/gateway fees. Goliath 03-02-2003, 05:37 AM Kneadingu: If you check the paypal service agreement, though... paypal is pretty bad for Resellers. If you are shipping a product, they're probably great, since you are allowed to show online shipping tracking records as proof of purchase. But their agreement seems to specifically target resellers and explicitly state that they get no protection. All disputes against a reseller automatically go in favor of the buyer, never the seller. That is a big axe to hang over someone's head. And, lots of customers don't trust it for whatever reason (though they get awesome protection with resellers, they should love paypal with 100% disputes in their favor). I saw decent replies about PaySystems, so I'm moving over to them. I've had a good... almost 2 years now, with paypal, and haven't had a single problem, honestly. But, I think it's time to move on when I'm now at the point of forming a LLC to shelter myself from very large liability, and PayPal is a liability after a point. $49 fee setup fee with them isn't all that much money. 3.95% + $1.00 isn't all that much more than PayPal (if you do yearly sales). I still give paypal props if you are starting out, but once you grow, you'll outgrow PayPal. I was just lucky to last on it for so long. But, I only switched cause I got under 4% rate. Any more than that, and I would have chanced PayPal a little longer. Aplusmedia 03-02-2003, 07:49 AM Avoid HostCharge at all costs. have funds in my account which I request a widthdraw for over 3 weeks now, sent over 10 emails to 3 different guys, and support, and havent heard a single word from them. Marque 03-02-2003, 03:34 PM 2checkout is good if you dont mind their percentages. Their site really sucks though. I would just get your own gateway if you can afford it, or get a gateway once your revenue starts to get large. 2checkout, or any 3rd party payment system isnt really worth it if your processing over 1k/mo. IMO. Esr Tek 03-02-2003, 04:02 PM Hostcharge - Complete scam (so it seems) Revecom/Paysystems - Was good, getin worse, poor support and recurring payments issues (canceled them due to rude support and fact they don't give 1 sh*t about thiers or your customers) 2checkout - Ok got its share of problems mainly support based, but its a small %age considering thier amount of clients. I find 2co to be flawless w/ the use of ModernBill. Mainly cause you have no need for the 2co panel , thier support coudl use a bit of help (had to 2 wait 5 days and 6 replies to get a answer to simple question) But they are honest and will get issues resolved.. jarekb 03-02-2003, 07:53 PM http://www.hostcharge.com/apply/ look about hostcharge how they work . not even default document is working |
