Earlier today my ns servers were down for about 9 hours, is it possible that local dns servers on the internet could have removed the entry for reverse lookup? because now only my box sharpwebinnovations.com get proper reverse info? Do i just need to wait for reverse to filter down? You can view the website, just on a traceroute reverse doesn't resolve outsite of the box.. thanks..

Alright...

dns servers dont just 'remove' your info, but here is what I am guessing happened,
your name servers went down, while they were down you did a traceroute/ping to your server, which the IP got cached and that the reverse dns was invalid, so that got cached too by your ISP (which looks like @home) so, there is no cure for that other than time (or if you happen to be good friends with an @home dns admin :)) here is my suggestion, logon to another shell, or someone else's machine/isp and try doing a ping / traceroute if it worked before, it more than likely will still work just like it did before, if problems continue, and it doesn't disappear in 3 days, than something has changed and more than likely won't change back unless someone does somthing about it, keep in mind reverse DNS isn't essential for proper operation, but it can be fun for IRC and useful for when other people look at their logs.
