Then I would say tell someone you care anyways cuz it does not need to be a holiday for you to show your respect and gratitude :D

It was fun, bummer we couldn't have fireworks, tho.

Why couldn't you have fireworks? That, to me at least, is the best part of the 4th.

I hope all of you had a wonderful 4th! I had a nice time visiting family and not worrying about computers or business :-)

Private fireworks are actually illegal where I live; perhaps JTY has the same problem.

Did anyone go see that new movie, The Patriot? It looks quite interesting, but I have not seen it yet.

Best regards,
Frank Rietta

Most all fireworks are banned, and the cops were actually doing their job.

Here in Southern California, you'd *think* fireworks would be illegal, but apparently they aren't. People were lighting them off in the street, on the sidewalks, in front of every other house.

The most impressive was a rather large group (about 100 people) lighting them off in a parking lot on the corner of a busy intersection. We saw a taxi cab slam into the back of another car waiting at the red light. I guess it was a bit distracting, heh.

Looked like W.W.III

Ohhh, and people were lighting off rather large fireworks (kind that shoots up into the air and explode), so I decided to go down to the corner, where there were 3 firework stands (on the three corners), for some bottle rockets.

Guess what? Bottle rockets are illegal in Cali. Go figure. Guess they aren't big enough to cause major distruction?

I was in So. Cali. most of last week. Even at rest areas they had signs saying what was illegal.

Frank,

Just came home after seeing the patriot -- impressive movie, quite touching and very much makes you think -- ya know the type. Definitely five thumbs up, great movie!

Go see it, by all means!

Happy belated 4th of july everyone!

Sincerely,

PCISD,
Thanks!

I had a great 4th. Took a much needed, however short, vacation.

Too bad some places have had to go and make fireworks illegal because so many people are so irresponsible. :(
We went to a national forest in Colorado, and even though we weren't sure if (even) campfires were allowed, we didn't even tempt fate by lighting one, much less fireworks. We just didn't want to be responsible for starting a forest or grass fire.

I agree the fireworks are the best part of the 4th.

One last comment before I fall off the soap box, funny how so many fires are caused by cigarette butts thown out the window (and how many ash trays are so shiney clean!), but you rarely hear about fires started by fireworks...

Things that make you go, 'hmmm...' ;)
