Is the back solution in cPanel good enough? or should i look into some 3rd party software?


Additionally would it be better to Mirror 2 drives? or actually use cPanel or 3rd party software to backup one drive to the other? Also since my drives are 60GB my data is only about 5GB or so with a 3rd party package i guess i could actually keep say the last 10 days?

In general the cPanel solution is good enough for most situations. If you host any e-commerce sites or anything of that nature you need to backup to tape or another server. That is one thing the cheap servers are good for...

If the server gets rooted by a hacker your backups to a second drive are not safe...

Then how do people use second server for CPanel backup? Just rsync or is there anything inside WHM's backup section to backup entire server (sites and settings) to a remote ftp account?
