Hi all,
I have been with APlus.net, but it's time to move on. I have a couple of questions:

1) Since I paid for my domain name with them, is it transferable and do I have to pay for it again?

2) I'm going to have a lot of video out there for my visitors, so I'll need a lot of space and (I assume) bandwidth, and a couple of email addresses. I can only afford to spend a max of $150 total for the year. From what I've seen, the most available for around ten dollars a month is 1G; is there anything better?

Any suggestions?

Thanks
T-

Hey trash and welcome to WHT did you sign a contract when you signed up for the hosting? did the domain come in with the package?

1) As for the domain name, it all depends on who's name it is registered under. If it is under yours then yes, it is yours to move. Most domain name registrar do not usually charge for transfer from one web host to another with the expection of the .nu domain name.

2) As for your request, I do not know if it is possible to fill but you might want to post in 'Web Hosting Request' in the advertising section of this forum.

Hi T,

I run a Police Forms site in the UK, promoting automated paperwork for overworked Bobbies.

I'm unsure if I can do this here, but we are knocked out with www.hosting-unlimited.co.uk who provide us with an Elite package for around $80. I know they provide Canadian & Australian hosting, so may do the US too.

1. Usually you will be charge a fee slightly lower than 1 year of domain fees, and that fee will allow you to extend your domain by another year.

2. I am sure as far as harddisk space is concerned, that can usually be negotiated. However you must understand that if you have about 2-3 GB of videos, what's going to exceed is likely to be your bandwidth allocation.

A budget of $150 should get you about 10GB of bandwidth/mth.
