I dont even use my aol account, but when i do i usually have about 100 to 500 pure porn spams in my inbox. Im more pissed about the junk mail i get in my snail mail box.... We caught a spammer a few days ago, using our FormMail script to send 1100 spam emails about penis enlargement pills. Keep in mind that the referrers WERE set. However, this doesn't seem to matter much when the form is in the local C drive of the person spamming. So we disabled FormMail. Then checked our error logs and caught the moron trying to find our FormMail script again. We had a whole list of errors with his IP, while he was trying to pinpoint where FormMail went. He tried every variation possible (FormMail.pl, Formmail.pl, formmail.pl, etc, etc.) Each error wearing his IP. We scanned his IP, found his current live connection, got his hostname, and Mac user ID, and personal email address. Since he/she was using DSL, we were able to get coordinates of this live connection. So I then went to TerraServer and entered the coordinates, and it turns out to be a trailer park in Virginia with a big dot, on his house with wheels. So, I emailed him a copy of the satellite photo of his/her house, and told him/her that we not only caught him/her, but know where he/she lives too. For example out hidden newsletter email address is embedded in Flash, and the Flash has never been uploaded to the web yet. None-the-less, we get about 83 spam messages per day on it, and have since a day after it was setup. Catalogs and all.
