View Full Version : Control panel cannot find virtual site admin pages!

Hi there,

I deleted some virtual domains using the GUI control panel, including the very first one on the list. Since then, I cannot access any of the site admin pages
( http://216.x.x.x/.cobalt/siteManage/www.whatever.com ).

There are only two remaining directories in the /usr/admserv/html/.cobalt/siteManage directory, namely ../home and ../site1 (which belongs to a site that I've added after the deletions in the hope that the problem would be solved). What's more, ../site1 does not have a dynamic link.

Everything is still fine in the /home/sites directory - all dynamic links are still present, including the actual directories.

Question time:

[1] Is there any way of recovering the directories and dynamic links from the PostgreSQL database?

[2] What could have caused this?

[3] If this is indeed a Cobalt bug, where does one report it?

Any help will be appreciated!

Rgrds,

Johan Pretorius

What a relief - Rackshack resolved the problem by running a script. In their own words:

"In rare instances the symbolic links break and you are no longer able to access the siteadmin pages from the server admin GUI. When this occurs we run a small script that re-creates the links to the siteadmin pages. "

Thanks to Rackshack support ;)

It appears to be a RaQ bug - I've raised it with Cobalt as well. Thing is -will I ever trust the virtual domain delete script?

rgrds,

Johan

ps - did this happen to anybody else before?

Chicken,

Weird, isn't it? Anyway - I've now made a tar backup of the /etc/admserv directory. This sucker won't get me again!
