I don't know why I didn't think of this a long time ago! I was noticing a pattern of certain porn spam (bright yellow background and large blue text) were all from falseanddifferenteverytime@yahoo.com and as I don't get any personal email at my hotmail account from yahoo, I blocked all yahoo "addresses", then another trashy one was was from false@exite.com....blocked that too. So today, I have had three spams instead of 50 :D

Okay I know these addresses aren't real, but hotmail sees the false ones as the sender. I think it would be a waste of a mouse click to try and block lame ones like unno@uhgoralia.gzf though

Well done, but it does mean you will block all email from Yahoo and Excite users. Times are changing, and the world is becoming weary of spam. Every day, the senate is working to pass new anti-spam laws, and it should be only a matter of time before action is taken against spammers.

Hotmail is the worst for spam, as we all know, and I dont think they are taking is lying down, Microsoft holds great investment in Hotmail, and as people move away to non-spammed accounts they are getting angry.

Change is in the air, and I hope it happens sooner rather than later.

Yes I chose it to block all yahoo and excite...blocking the very obvious false addresses wouldn't have done a thing..

For POP3 email I found a nice little program called SpamPal. It' a windows program that runs as a proxy between your email client and your server and uses DNSBL lists to tag spam. You can then set up rules in your email client to deal with the tagged messages. It also has several plugins so that you can tag messages based on other criteria instead of just the DNSBL lists.

Well Kane, the majority of the time they are false addresses, so you end up sending them to some poor joe in Ohio, or even worse, they all bounce straight back.

A word of advice though, reporting spam at this moment in time is fruitless, as is the click here to remove link, usually, clicking on a link like that just confirms that you are a user reading their spam, but as for reporting, unless you are friendly with an sprint/aol/rr/hotmail etc administrator the majority of the time your complaint is just dropped.
