View Full Version : Can anyone access my website
netneurones 02-19-2003, 03:22 PM I'm in Mauritius and currently unable to access my website. My webhoster tells me that everything is OK and that the prob comes from the ISP ... Can someone tell me if they can access my site?
http://www.acdcomputers.com
Artashes 02-19-2003, 03:23 PM Its online for me. :)
matrosov 02-19-2003, 03:24 PM I can. :)
netneurones 02-19-2003, 03:26 PM How can it be that I cannot get it while YOU can get it? This is a website for a client. I have several websites on the same reseller acct. The only other account enabled is available (netneurones.com). I've checked traceroute and this is what I see.
traceroute www.acdcomputers.com
www.acdcomputers.com resolves to 66.246.28.112
Do not contact either Los Nettos (ln.net) or Centergate Research Group (centergate.com) based on the results of this traceroute.

mindboggle 02-19-2003, 03:27 PM I can access it.
sprintserve 02-19-2003, 03:27 PM I can. Take some time to resolve though.
bambenek 02-19-2003, 03:32 PM The internet is broken... go home.
netneurones 02-19-2003, 03:35 PM Do you really think it has s/thing to do with the ISP? Why is it that I can access Netneurones.com and not acdcomputers.com?
dbbrock1 02-19-2003, 03:39 PM Working fine here
Brutis 02-19-2003, 03:40 PM Came up fine for me.
DarktidesNET 02-19-2003, 03:41 PM Works fine here too. Try to use it's IP and see if that helps you.
netneurones 02-19-2003, 03:54 PM DNS = IP?
DarktidesNET 02-19-2003, 04:15 PM Yeah, like, http://ip/ or http://ip/~your_login_name/
qm8309 02-19-2003, 04:23 PM its online here in houston. but that flash took forever to load.
netneurones 02-19-2003, 04:23 PM http://www.serverbiz.net/~acdcompu/
66.246.28.112/~acdcompu

http://66.246.28.112/~youruserid/
and yeah, it's up for me.
ArthurDavis 02-19-2003, 04:49 PM Looks to be online from here.
netneurones 02-19-2003, 05:45 PM So does anyone has a clue what this could be... Below is my webhoster's reply
"I have run a second check on the DNS for your domain and it all appears to be working fine, The only thing that it could be is an ISP problem to do with resolving your domain to our server's IP address"
BoatDan 02-19-2003, 06:02 PM FYI: Works for me.
The best thing I can tell you to do is what I do. Get a free NetZero account and try to dial in from a few different places.
It works for me. Im in New Jersey, USA.
Vestirse 02-19-2003, 06:18 PM Works Here. I'm in Massachusetts, USA
RasnCain 02-19-2003, 06:19 PM Working here... Dallas, TX
Bladerunner 02-19-2003, 08:23 PM OK, yet another "It's fine from here" - this is the UK calling.
You are abviously resolving to the correct IP address, so it certainly isn't a DNS issue.
Looking at your traceroute we can see you fail at hop 15 where you get those strange replies.
Your hop 15 is actually the same as my hop 9 (I get to the site in 12 hops).
I don't get these messages at those routers so I can really only assume ISP problems.
As somebody else suggested, sign up for a free account somewhere and give it a try from there, I'm sure it will work.
esystal 02-19-2003, 08:25 PM Dear Netneurones:
Good evening Netneurones!
The website is also functioning for me at Toronto, Canada.
netneurones 02-19-2003, 11:37 PM We have only ONE ISP in Mauritius... One Monopoly... Do you remember what that means? I can't get away from them... What kind of prob could have cause that and why does another account on the same reseller acct show up?
Can it have something to do with my Domain registrar (netneurones and acdcomputers are not registered at the same registrar)
dapon 02-19-2003, 11:55 PM It comes up fine for me.
Bladerunner 02-20-2003, 05:46 AM Have you actually spoken to your ISP about this issue?
Asked them to perform a traceroute and see what happens and then point them in the direction of this thread to show everyone else seems to be able to see it.
As to what would cause it I don't know.
Peering problems, unavailable reverse DNS from your ISP - there are literally 101 things that can cause problems.
anon-e-mouse 02-20-2003, 06:04 AM It could be simply that your ISP hasn't updated their DNS :)
netneurones 02-21-2003, 10:13 AM Available.. Probably one of these weird mysteries of the web
hongjun 02-21-2003, 10:46 AM heee... some isp problem
