For those of you who use The Smart Hosting Tools Controller, how do I install it on a Linux server??? When I do ./install like the instructions say, it says Invalid command..Any help please?

You have to become root first and/or otherwise you have to chmod the file to be executable...

Tell me if you succeeded in installing SHC.

I know many people complain about the installation.

I am root. I will keep on trying. What did other people do to get it to work?

maybe 'sh ./install'

No luck. What if I did it directly through from the server (standing in front of it)..would it work?

The trial version I tried out needed to be installed from the / directory. All other directories I tried to install from failed.

Can you please tell me what you did step by step? I am kind of stupid when it comes to this..Thank you!

I did not do it...I asked my provider, Burst.net for help, and they gladly did. Their support so far has been great!

How is Smart Hosting Controller i have been looking at as well.. Have you had any big problems with it?

It works okay, but I have only played with the one I have for about 4 months. They have done several fixes on the software since it came out. It does not appear to be buggy and is pretty fast.
I hope to begin using it full force soon.

Do they give free Updates on there software?

They do for bug fixes, so far. If they add a feature, they said it will be charged for.

Licensed customers get free upgrades for this version (both bug fixes as new features)

I know that upgrades, and bug fixes are free, you guys have been great about that. I was simply trying to explain that items like the billing feature were not included free.

No problem.

All licenses users receive free upgrades in this version. Even major upgrades such as name-based hosting and a reseller panel.

Then we also release some optional components such as the Automatic Billing, which can be added to the SHC product for a small fee.

And finally, we also release stand-alone products, such as the Help Desk, which can be run independent of SHC.

That should clarify our system!
