Dear chra:

Good morning chra!
Their website is also non-functional for me.
Did you check with them to see what is happening?
Good luck!

my site is down as well. i have brought up the issue of the downtime a few times via support tickets. they have been wonderful in all aspects, except that most recently, the downtime seems to have only increased.

Thanks!

Hi all, I am new to this forum (been lurking on the side for a while) but I think it is time to jump in. I too chose to host with *********, they looked good at the start but now appear to be like so many others. Glad I only set up a basic account I am ready to go for reseller but I guess it won't be with these guys.
Is there a company out there that wants our money in return for a hosting package that works?
Anyway, great forum I will be around for a while in the great quest for a host that "says what they do and do what they say"

:D

This is the first bit of longtime downtime I have had with h0stmat1x. Been down since 12.06 am.

A week or two ago, we had some downtime (about 5 min or less) nothing to complain about it.

Hello everyone. I'm also a new poster on this forum, but have been checking it out for awhile just to see what people think of certain hosts. Anyway, I too have an account with Host Matix and I have to say that this is absolutely rediculous. When they are up, they work well and their plans are great, but it seems as if they are down about every 1.5/2 weeks on average.

I have a reseller account setup, and this host is really beginning to make me look unreliable with my clients. As if I wasn't busy enough, every few weeks I get clients complaining about their sites/email being down. I'm in a tight spot financially and don't have the flexibility or the time to jump from one host to another. What gives? I've been through about 3 hosts so far, and this has to be my second worst experience. They have great plans, but I'm starting to get sick of their downtime.

Have you guys tried to contact them via phone yet?

I would be more than happy to call. However their site is down and I believe the phone number is overseas for me.

Check the domain info and find the tel. no.

I would love to give them a call too, but they are located across the globe. I think they're in the middle east somewhere, but I'm not too sure exactly.

I think I may want to go with an American host in the future (very near future if they don't get back up sometime soon) so I could at least call them up if I have any problems.

this is becoming unacceptable!

more and more downtime in the last couple of weeks. before that they were just perfect. i heard they have a problem with the backbone, but what does it mean?

i have not been quick to bash hm, because i have actually enjoyed their service up to date. timely replies to trouble tickets and very friendly support. however, if the domain suffers from frequent downtime, then the rest of the service does not matter in my opinion.

i would like to give them the benefit of the doubt, because "stuff happens" but this extended downtime is not reassuring. especially after i had submitted some trouble tickets to them about that downtime.

i am going to get the ball rolling and discuss my options with other hosting companies just in case. might as well start looking and have something in case i need to move.

vamp22 - i would be interested in hearing what hm support has to say about the downtime.

^^^^ I agree.

I've seen posts on here in the past about Host Matix and people's sites being down, and I've remained patient for about 2 months now. Even with clients complaining to me, I just took it all in stride. I was sure that they would attend to the problem and that's that. I always give people chances and such, because stuff does happen. But right about now, I'm fed up. They've been down for awhile now and it seems like they continue to go down every few weeks. Soon they're going to start messing up my cashflow and my reputation once my clients (and my business partners) find out about this. This is exremely frustrating.

If anyone would like to recommend hosts worthy of checking out, I would be much abliged. US-based hosts only please.

Thankx Vamp22,

I'm awaiting for reply as well.

Also, for people who understand, what is a "core router failure"? How does it happen? How serious is it? And what does it usually say about the host?

Best,

He said about 1-2 hours as a rough estimate on when it should be back up.

Possible router died? Technology does fail from time to time. The main reason for my income. :D

Hopefully all is well. All hosts have their issues. Hopefully this kind of thing wont occur again. For their and our sakes. I know it is not fun right now replacing that router. So far they have been a good host for me. I just hope that everything comes back up ok..

Lucky you. My sites are still down.

How difficult the problem really is to fix? I don't understand if this router is serious... and has this ever happend to any other hosts that you know off?

ChrisTech

If they had to replace the router, maybe they had to re-cofigure it?

My site is still down, hoping it will be up soon, need to get a file off it to finish up this pc I am working on.

I asked about 2 1/2 hours ago or more. it was about 3:00PM and now it's 5:40PM. I do find it really annoying that they were down a lot in the past 2 months or less, well atleast it's been happening to me. I finally gave up with it and I am getting a new host soon.

What really ticked me off was one day I asked a question because I couldn't send my email I asked them a question and bout 8 hours later someone asked me "How can I help you?"

Also I had complained to them about how I was really starting to get ticked off and they said that they would upgrade the plan and other stuff if I stayed but no one ever contacted me back. When they are back up I'm downloading my stuff and running to a better host. I don't have just mine but a couple other people's sites I hosts for free.
