Jeffbg123 02-19-2003, 01:02 AM I saw the CP and edited my post heh. I will buy tommorrw. How long does setup take? and if I start without a CP and just plain Linux then can I go to a control panel in the future?
ispclub.com 02-19-2003, 01:06 AM If you want to start without a control panel that is fine with us... Not going to be fun installing that control panel at a later date though.
If you can get us the agreement and fill out the form by 12 noon EST tomorrow, server will be up tomorrow.
Jeffbg123 02-19-2003, 01:07 AM What is the charge for bandwidth over 300 gigs?
ispclub.com 02-19-2003, 01:09 AM $1 per GB
NetLuxe 02-19-2003, 03:14 AM Ezzi where in Long Island are you?
Would I be able to come by and look at your data center some time with an appointment? I'm located in Nassau County
tandem 02-19-2003, 03:50 AM Do you have a looking glass to test the outbound connections?
ispclub.com 02-19-2003, 04:04 AM NetLuxe,
If you click on the link that says data center info it will give you the address. We are in the LI Tech Center. Send us an email or call to make an appointment.
ispclub.com 02-19-2003, 04:06 AM tandem,
No dont have anything to test outbound connections. You can do a speed test from the link in the first post.
What are you trying to figure out exactly? I am sure some of our existing clients out there will agree that inbound, outbound or whatever bound you can think of the network is the same and there is no difference in speed or providers.
Darth 02-19-2003, 08:43 AM Nice deal, how much would it cost to have it sent to the uk? :D
Jeffbg123 02-19-2003, 09:58 AM If I dont run a control panel is there a way of monitoring the bandwidth usage?

MRTG Hosters Edition
Jeffbg123 02-19-2003, 10:11 AM what is that?

Jeffbg123 02-19-2003, 10:45 AM still confused.
Is it just a program that monitors bandwidth?
Do I install it on the server or does it come installed?

MRTG is a data collection tool, from this you have a cronjob run every 5 minutes, using the SNMP protocol [on the likes of freebsd youll have to install an SNMP daemon and have it running] it polls your network interfaces for the data it needs to build a database of traffic that has passed through the interface.
WIth that database it plots a graph of usage.
MRTG Hosters edition goes one further to plot a daily bar chart of the the amount of bandwidth passed through your network interfaces.
And thats what it is, in a nutshell, you have to install it yourself, for me it is a piece of piss, for you I do not know your technical ability, but it is a very good tool that will do exactly as you require.
ispclub.com 02-19-2003, 12:11 PM Jeffbg123,
You dont have to worry about using a control panel to view bandwidth usage since we will provide that for you
ispclub.com 02-19-2003, 12:13 PM Darth,
Our zip code in the US is 11739, you can check UPS or FedEX or whoever you want for shipping price.
Jeffbg123 02-19-2003, 04:59 PM is it possible to get it initially upgraded to 500 gigs of bw for a different price? if so, what price?
ispclub.com 02-19-2003, 06:40 PM Extra BW is $1 per GB
teckel 02-19-2003, 10:42 PM What OS? Can it be FreeBSD?
Tim
Jeffbg123 02-19-2003, 10:50 PM Click the order form, I think it lists options there
Jeffbg123 02-19-2003, 10:59 PM if you are lazy, here it is:
Operating System
RedHat Linux 7.3
RedHat Linux 8.0 (Doesn't work with Plesk)
FreeBSD 4.7
Windows 2000 (EZZI's license - add $100/mo plus $150 set up)
Windows 2000 (Client supplies license - add $150 set up)
Jeffbg123 02-20-2003, 05:09 PM I am about to order, what does it mean on the order form where it says Desired Name Server? do we get our own nameservers? What if we dont want a control panel, do we still choose one?
Jeffbg123 02-20-2003, 05:10 PM And do we have to Fax the agreement? can we print it, sign it, scan it, and e-mail it or something of that sort? use an electronic signature?
ispclub.com 02-20-2003, 05:14 PM Jeffbg123,
We need the name server you point your domains to. Like for us we point our domains to s1.ezzi.net and s2.ezzi.net when we register new domains.
ispclub.com 02-20-2003, 05:15 PM Jeffbg123,
We need the agreement filled out and signed... However you want to send it to us is up to you.
Jeffbg123 02-20-2003, 05:19 PM I am still confused on the NameServers. I am planning to just run gameservers and not host any domains. If I must give the nameservers then what ones do I give? just choose random ones from a domain that I own or what?
ispclub.com 02-20-2003, 05:21 PM Just leave it blank
Jeffbg123 02-20-2003, 06:25 PM Just got done reading the Agreement, etc. A few more questions
1. What does it mean by a block of 8 (5 usable) ips? What happened to the other 3?
2. Original post says that if we rent for 6 months then we can colocate and get 500 gigs of bw but Agreement says that if we colocate it we only get 300gb. Which is correct?
3. I am not quite clear on the early termination fees.....If I rent it for one month can I cancel after the month or is the term considered 6 months and do I have to pay for the remaining 5 whether I use it or not?
4. I remember reading on your site that 99.5% uptime guaranteed. The credit section of the agreement is a bit confusing. It says that if it is down for one day that I recieve 1 day of credit. This is far less than 99.5% but I would only recieve 1 day of credit? am I missing something?
5. I dont fill in under Web Auction correct? just where it says customer on the agreement?
6. Are IrcD shells allowed?
Thanks a lot, I just dont want to go into anything that I will regret.
Pillhead 02-20-2003, 06:34 PM Well, im guessing they use subnet masks of 255.255.255.248, which means there would be 8 ips, but 3 of them will be used, 1 for the default gateway, 1 for the network and one for the broadcast.
So for example.
10.0.0.0 - network
10.0.0.1 - gateway
10.0.0.2 - Useable
10.0.0.3 - Useable
10.0.0.4 - Useable
10.0.0.5 - Useable
10.0.0.6 - Useable
10.0.0.7 - Broadcast
One ip used for your gateway of the useable ones(gateways must be on same subnet), the other two are network subnet and broadcast, the other 5 are usable.
ispclub.com 02-20-2003, 06:57 PM Jeffbg123,
1. What does it mean by a block of 8 (5 usable) ips? What happened to the other 3?
We ate them... in the block of IPs you lose IPs to the gateway, broadcast and network.
2. Original post says that if we rent for 6 months then we can colocate and get 500 gigs of bw but Agreement says that if we colocate it we only get 300gb. Which is correct?
You are the first one that noticed that, its a typo and its fixed.
3. I am not quite clear on the early termination fees.....If I rent it for one month can I cancel after the month or is the term considered 6 months and do I have to pay for the remaining 5 whether I use it or not?
It states in the third line of the agreement that its for 1 month. You can cancel anytime, if you keep service for 6 months the server is yours.
4. I remember reading on your site that 99.5% uptime guaranteed. The credit section of the agreement is a bit confusing. It says that if it is down for one day that I recieve 1 day of credit. This is far less than 99.5% but I would only recieve 1 day of credit? am I missing something?
1 day of downtime is 99.7% uptime for the year
5. I dont fill in under Web Auction correct? just where it says customer on the agreement?
In the top part of the agreement you just put your company name and the state you are in
6. Are IrcD shells allowed?
no
Jeffbg123 02-20-2003, 07:00 PM for #2, which is a type? the forum 500 gigs or the agreement's 300 gigs?
and for #4, it says something that there can only be a max of 4 days of credit. What if it is down for a whole month? I only get 4 days worth of credit back?
ispclub.com 02-20-2003, 07:02 PM Jeffbg123,
Its a typo in the agreement.
If we are down for a month we wouldnt be in business anymore.
Jeffbg123 02-20-2003, 07:11 PM I know, I just want to make sure that if there is a week downtime do I only get 1 day or 1/30th or 1/365th of my money back? Or of extra server time? And what e-mail adress should I send the Agreement (signed and scanned) to?
ispclub.com 02-20-2003, 07:20 PM You can email it to sales@ezzi.net
Jeffbg123 02-20-2003, 07:25 PM Please respond to the other question: I just want to make sure that if there is a week downtime do I only get 1 day or 1/30th or 1/365th of my money back? Or of extra server time? This seems like little payment if for a quarter of the paid for period the server is unaccessable. I am not saying that this will happen. I just want to make sure.
ispclub.com 02-20-2003, 07:54 PM I am not really sure where the confusion is. It clearly states in the agreement
Interruptions Over 24 Hours:
Interruptions over 24 hours will be credited 1/6 day for each 4-hour period or fraction thereof. No more than one full day's credit will be allowed for any period of 4 days. Interruption length shall include the time required to re-establish logical network connectivity.
So you are credited for the time you are down.
Let me know which part you are having trouble understanding so I can be more specific.
Jeffbg123 02-22-2003, 03:13 PM sorry
ispclub.com 02-22-2003, 04:55 PM Im curious why you would post this question while you are talking to us on live help and we explained to you that your server is the only one down due to some problems with your IPs that you set up. If you are on live chat with us then our network is not down.
As said in the live chat session going on right now, we can ping from inside your server but we cant ping the server. We are going to work on fixing your server, just like we are explaining to you on live chat.
EGN-Steve 02-23-2003, 02:45 PM After 6 months, I can come and pickup my server? Im on long island too :)
ispclub.com 02-24-2003, 03:17 AM Sure you can.
EGN-Steve 02-24-2003, 04:35 PM This would be at the Long Island datacenter?
ispclub.com 02-24-2003, 05:09 PM Yes we are in the Long Island Technology Center (3500 Sunrise Hwy)
EGN-Steve 02-24-2003, 05:10 PM Do you have AIM/MSN/ICQ/Y? Also, how many are left?
ispclub.com 02-24-2003, 06:03 PM Sold out last week but we got more in today.
We only use our live chat or email or phone.
Jeffbg123 02-24-2003, 07:26 PM So are there more of the 300 gig version available or only the 200 gig with the $200 setup fee?
ispclub.com 02-24-2003, 07:35 PM You can still get a server that is on this thread
Jeffbg123 02-24-2003, 08:36 PM I think I might be picking up another in the next few days. Just wanted to test it but now I see the great support/server/bandwidth. Thanks a lot
ispclub.com 02-24-2003, 08:50 PM Glad to see a happy customer... we can save one for you just in case we run low again by the time you are ready to order, just contact your sales person.
EGN-Steve 02-24-2003, 09:47 PM Your live chat on your website is broken..
ispclub.com 02-24-2003, 09:48 PM It works perfectly fine for us. What exactly happens when you click the button?
EGN-Steve 02-25-2003, 06:51 PM Its a red X when I look at the image, and I get page cannot be displayed when I click on it.
ispclub.com 02-25-2003, 06:54 PM That image pulls directly off of LivePersons network, so for whatever reason you cant see their network or something. Not sure at all. If you have any questions you can just email us at sales@ezzi.net or give us a call.
