I am building a new server, I have only a 4U server case. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can spend like $400 to finish this server and parts and stuff, Thanks (Also, I have 4 fans)

Do you mean you want to basically buy the entire server for $400, (besides the case of course).

There are many places to find hardware, a cheap directory of online stores is pricewatch, but building any decent server for $400 is going to be quite hard.

You'll need a motherboard, a cpu, ram, a cdrom, a floppy drive, hard drive(s), and maybe a raid card ... plus anything else you might want.

Pricewatch is by far the easiest place to find the best prices

Pricewatch is good if you're getting only a few parts from the same company..but the price adds up with shipping if you order from different places.

You can easily build a very good server for $400, I usually order all my parts from newegg

I would agree, you will be surprised what you can do for $400. Just from memory, you can get an AMD XP2000+, a motherboard, 1GB of ram, and a couple of drives.

BTW-I only recommend the AMD since it is a 4U case. I have had machines attempt to cook themselves with AMD processors in small cases.
