UnlimiHost - the 15-year-old-kid company has officially shut down with the message:
ULIMIHOST/CAPITALHOST IS SHUTDOWN PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY EMAILS TO US AND YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED.
There's even a spelling error in the shutdown message

I wonder why ...? :D

The guy from this thread?

I guess that means another 45 employees (IIRC) of a dot-com on the line, then? :)

hrmmm...
He was using the control panel layout from Donhost that I designed, and claiming that it was "the result of thousands of hours of work from Unlimihost developers that is unique from to the US market"
I found this funny because:
1. My design wasn't all that great. The only reason Daniel makes it available to his resellers, I think, is because I actually put the effort into figuring out how to put the layout together and he wanted others to do the same.
2. Countless numbers of Donhost resellers use this layout/Control Panel, far from 'unique to the US market'
So I decided to have a little fun with the boy.
I noticed he used the Human Click software for live support. After seeing that he was available for chat, I visited his site from my website, and various goverment websites (fbi.gov and the likes) and tried to talk to him through the live support software...
Those who have used the Human Click software know how this works... A visitor joins your site and it shows information of the visitor, including the reffering site.
Everytime I would visit the live support page, his human click status would change from "Click here to talk to a real person" to "Leave a mesage". The one time I was able to click on the button before it changed to 'leave a message', I waited for 'an operator to respond' for about 10 minutes before getting a message saying that 'all operators are busy, please leave a message or try again later'...
I hope I didn't scare him off ;) .
Chances are he got grounded, banned from the family computer, and wasn't going to get the allowance from his parents that he used to pay for his donhost reseller account for a while.

It would be sad if there are some customers who have been left in the dark. Maybe a donhost reseller should contact Daniel about picking up these clients?
I'm worried about these clients now :(
Maybe Daniel will stumble across this thread and think of a solution for them.

Well, he has closed, no more victimes at least..
Hey,
Does anyone know if this kid intentionally tried to fraud people? Or did he just not know how to run a company and got stuck?

I guess it's a wonder what happened to those "apparent 45 employees" then!
Or then again... maybe not! :D
