wilsy 02-16-2003, 05:37 PM Hi Guys,
In your opinion who is the best template designer (style/price) on WHT? .......this one should stir up some debate ;)
If you could point me in the right direction then I will be eternally grateful.
Best wishes,
Wilsy.

Just made that template for a WHT member. It was a little more detailed than just a template, but I think it still counts :)

CobaltConn 02-16-2003, 06:56 PM phatronic did a pretty good job for me, for a relatively good price ($180)
http://www.blueoptic.com
I've modified it quite a bit though..he didn't do any of the sub pages ..just the front
V+E+R+T 02-16-2003, 07:45 PM I hate to put myself in here, mainly because I like to stay humble, but one shameless plug wouldn't hurt. ;)
Here's my latest template: http://progex.u43.cahostnet.com/templates/entertemp.jpg
There are, of course, other designers among WHT that are very gifted and talented! :)
Moobrack 02-16-2003, 08:16 PM LOL, V+E+R+T - do you have aim? i need to talk
Azaloth 02-16-2003, 08:23 PM DesignNYC (www.webprosys.net), Andrei Zimiles (www.andreizimiles.com), Corey Wojen (www.ravio.com)
What do all three have in common? They charge $800+ for even the most basic template...Coincidence? I think not.
Examples of work:
Design NYC
Website Design - www.fdcservers.net
Andrei Zimiles
Website Design - www.andreizimiles.com/design/jagpc/aletia
Forum Design: - www.techskins.com/customdemos/forumdisplay.php?forumid=2
Corey Wojen
Website Design - www.ravio.com
Forum Design - www.yaxay.com
However the three mentioned above are very busy lately and I know for a fact that they are unlikely to accept any new projects right now. However if you're a serious client who is monetarily prepared to pay for top-quality work than it can't hurt to get in touch.
essene 02-16-2003, 08:54 PM I'm going to vote based on consistency and integrity.
Prelude - Has been on these boards for some time. has the patience of a shaolin monk. His designs just continue to improve, he treats his customers like gold and is a great person to boot.
Will (Wello) - Not only an outstanding designer..uses well laid out designs, bold colours, excellent cuts of his designs..
We actually have a subsidiary coming out and we spoke with several designers to create our vision..none were capable, however Will was able to nail the initial design concept in a matter of days...
The common thread among both guys is that they stick with you once the design is completed, ask how things are coming along and provide you with support throughout...
While other designers come onto these boards, both of these gentlemen reside here on a consistent basis, help others and ensure that youre happy before you pay for the work...

It's definetly not having their websites up. ;) I could have sworn I've seen you sell 'even the basic' templates for well under $300 many of times here. Your work is really nice (much better than 80% of "designers" here), but I wouldn't go as far to say you are in the same league as the other two. Just a friendly observation. :)
Corey probably was the one who did the best work overall that I personally interacted with. Geiger does nice work too.
pattox 02-16-2003, 09:05 PM I dunno but Timechange is pretty witty :D

Webprosys.net does not charge $800+ for the most simple template. They are profesional and i will let you know they did a great design for me and did not charge $800. They are not t e m p l a t e m o n s t e r but please keep in mind the time they put into these designs.
Azaloth 02-16-2003, 09:32 PM All of us have, in the past, charged less than $800 for a template, but now that all of us have a consistent client base I know for a fact that we all charge $800+. I know DesignNYC personally, and I know that he as well, rarely if ever accepts jobs under $1000.
Vipe - You are entitled to your opinion, my friend. My work has progressed rapidly over the past year and my older work obviously shows its age, but I'd put my newer work toe to toe with my fellows mentioned above and even the "fabled" Ceonex...
DesignNYC and myself are good friends and are constantly critiquing one another's work, I have the utmost respect for him and we have taught one another a great deal.
I don't know Corey that well but I also greatly respect his work and our work is constantly being compared...
pattox 02-16-2003, 09:35 PM Excuse me, you are reffering to DesignNyc, of webprosys.net ???
He gave me a GREAT Deal !!!!!!
Azaloth 02-16-2003, 09:42 PM I am talking about Satya, and the quality of his work certainly makes him MOST DIFFERENT from your average WHT designer. I also know for a fact that he doesn't do $50 template jobs, I am not sure what sort of arrangements you two have, perhaps he has cut you a deal of some sort, but he has plenty of pretigious clients and is by no means desperate enough to sell dirt cheap designs on WHT like most do...
pattox 02-16-2003, 09:48 PM He isnt dirt cheap and hes a great designer ;)
Golgotha 02-16-2003, 09:49 PM well since I can't vote for myself, and my prices are usually too high for WHT...my vote goes to geiger, he does fine work.
Steven.C 02-16-2003, 11:50 PM I stand corrected.
