I have a client that needs ASP hosting. My current Reseller provider does not offer it. Does anyone know a good Win2000 reseller program.

John D. 02-15-2003, 02:37 PM I have heard about some software that allows you to run ASP pages on your Unix/Linux box. Is this true? Perhaps that could be a solution without having to open a Windows reseller account? stutco 02-16-2003, 08:45 AM I have also heard of that but have been told that it is very resource intensive and most will not run it..... When I used them before, support was terrible. merconline 02-17-2003, 12:57 PM ASP running on a Linux box is crippled ASP ;) If you want actual ASP or ASP.net then u should look for ASP on W2K server. protecweb 02-17-2003, 01:04 PM What your looking for on *nix platform is chillisoft. It is undergoing a rebrand by Sun which you can find out about here > http://www.chillisoft.com merconline is correct though, it is pretty useless to the average or above ASP dev as it doesnt support all features and uses a lot of resources. case 02-17-2003, 04:27 PM ill agree , without the mssql , asp is useless . I wouldnt waste my time with a *nix server if asp is what you trully need . Then again , you might want to let your client know php is far superior then that of asp and runs on both platforms stutco 02-17-2003, 04:31 PM I now have 2 new clients wanting to move their sites to me. Both have extensive sites programed using asp. 1 is an awsome site w/ 3d. I really would like to do this right. readyhost.com or .net does not exist as far as I can tell www.lnc-hosting.com sorry but they domain name is only a year old need something with more of a track record. Come guys there has to be a tried and true one out there. case 02-17-2003, 05:10 PM you might want to give rackmy.com a look into . I know they do windows hosting and have ben around longer then a year . |qp| 04-09-2003, 08:18 PM it's www.readyhosting.com I have more than 10 accounts there, and I can tel you that if you have banwidth more than 3-4 GB/m your site may be suspended. Only banwidth is the problem at readyhosting.com :) kvguser 04-09-2003, 08:59 PM Try also asp-hosting.ca John D. 05-09-2003, 02:48 AM In case anyone's still looking, I chose Tokios.com to handle my Windows clients and their support has been terrific. They're worth a look. pod 05-09-2003, 07:38 PM we use webecs.com |
