Hi,

I need to buy a server for my company and then send it to co location. I want advice from you guys on where to buy a server, how much it will cost and what I should put in to it.

We use a lot of RAM since our site is all written in C/C++/Perl and uses MySQL extensively (its a webgame). We also need the proccessor power, preferably 2 CPU's and if not, a motherboard with one. I dont know about brand names for each one. 2U case. Thats all I can tell for prerequisites that I can remember at the moment.

I have looked at PenguinComputing.com but it is quite expensive. I dont have a very big budget, but I do need quality. I know I am contradicting myself by asking for quality for not a lot of money, but I guess you understand.

Thanks,
Itay

Racksaver has the best offer yet, with a 2U server with 2CPU's (Intel PIII at 850mhz) with 1GB of ram at 2770$, but that is a helluva lot of cash =)

I am downgrading my request to a 1U I guess =)

2U's are expensive

If you can wait a few hours I will post my server companies list, I don't have it at hand now.

Also, if you use colocation you will pay for the space, so usually 1U is cheaper per month than 2U.
