arrggghhh

Okay, so I'm trying to install mysql on my Raq4i. I downloaded the package file from cobalt's website. I went to the admin panel, selected 'install software' and uploaded the pkg from my machine. The admin panel said 'uploading and installing software'. After a few minutes, it returned to the panel, but mysql isn't listed as installed. I tried to telnet and type a mysql command and got the 'mysql' not found message.

Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong???

Obviously it did not install, so try again.

Did that, three times, no luck. Any other thoughts?

You may want to transfer the file (either by downloading it to your machine and then uploading it via FTP), or telneting in and get'ting the file to the loaded directory and install it from there.

Howdy,

There is a lengthy thread here (http://www.serverexpert.com/viewtopic.php?t=5) about someone else who had problems installing MySQL. You'll want to check /var/cobalt/adm.log and see if there are any messages there about the install.

Why don't you just go to the admin panel and install directly from cobalt web site?

I thought that would be the easiest instead of dowloading to your machine then uploading to the server.

Also while installing, watch the bottom window for any errors if any.
