binaryblocks.com is one of or the best hosting sites to date.

ok first of all i only heard about them since yesterday but boy did i learn a lot. i talked to the owner of binaryblocks on the phone for an hour and a half talking about everything from binaryblocks being a partner with microsoft on the SBC project to the servers and routers.

first of all what really impressed me was the support. i filled out a form at his site on having a custom package and then a little bit later the guy calls me from canada! he has a lot of interesting ideas that i think make that host stand out from the rest, to name some of the things he told me here:

- nothing on their servers, routers, cables, anything and everything they have is older then 8 monthes.

- their servers and across the street from Qwest, one of the largest backbones in the US.

- at peak hours they keep their servers less then 50% idle because they only put around 50 sites per server other then other hosts that put like 200 - 300 sites per server.

- the SBC project... this will revolutionize the way the internet works. you should go check it out, its really interesting.

- they have block packages that are easily upgradable, for example if a site is growing to the point it needs more space you just add another block to your site, pretty simple eh?

- best support i've seen ever! for christ sake the guy called me and talked to me for an hour and a half, the ******* owner of the place!

- the site really has unlimited bandwidth! for example he told me that he is hosting the site acidfonts.com and they were pulling out 300gb/m bandwidth, but the majority was from people leeching from his site, so he actually worked with him to fix the problem, installying scripts and all those gadgets to prevent leeching and all in all bring down the 300gb/m to 100gb/m while keeping all the traffic he had before.

well thats my review. this host is the best im telling ya and the support is kick ass.

Haha, according to BBC English Dictionary it says:

"They have difficulty speaking clearly and make spitting sounds as they are talking because they are angry, embarrassed, or surprised".

I don't know of other slang meaning to it.

Have a good day!

First of all, it takes like 30 seconds worth of checking to find out that BinaryBlocks.com is renting Cobalt Raq servers from Datapipe.com (looks like he stole a bunch of their graphics too). So if they guy is telling you that he owns all of "their servers, routers, cables, blah blah blah" then he is BS'ing you. You didn't say if he claimed to own them, but I got that impression from the way you put it.

Second, "unlimited bandwidth" is another load of COMPLETE bull. Go to the Datapipe.com site and you find out they charge $4/gig for bandwidth. So if the BinaryBlocks.com dude is telling you he's hosting a site that's doing 100 gig/month, then that site is costing him $400 a month. Since BinaryBlocks.com's most expensive plan is $7/month, that means he's paying $400 a month to host a $7 a month site? Really? Huh? He's either lying to you about how much bandwidth Acidfonts.com is using, or he's got very rich parents that don't mind financing their son's "experiment".

Either BinaryBockhead is BS'ing you or you are BS'ing us, but IN MY OPINION something is not right somewhere.

iCreation, why is the domain in your profile unregistered? You shouln't post domains you want to register (if it's the case) in public, someone could register it before you ;)

iCreation (and everyone), please note that some really shameless hosts have more or less left members on guard and ever watchful. It is too bad, but when posts like yours are made, people's eyebrows raise up above their hairline. Why? Well when someone new comes to a board and posts:

I mean, you honestly *must* see that it pretty much *sounds* like nothing more than an ad, no matter if it is not. We do get legitimate posts that happen to be worded like ads.

Point being, if it *is* an ad, we'll take care of it, ban the URL, and shame this host everytime the name is brought up. If it isn't, then it is just a new member giving some info.

Please direct further 'investigative posts' to the moderators, danke.

iCreation> Sorry mate, wasn't meant to come out rude. :( Just like chicken says, it does look like an glossy ad you have to admit! ;) Honest opinion, your views are more than likely legitimate. No harm meant.

By the way this thread (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=11141) may interest you.

binaryblocks.com update:
Jason Piercy hosted thousands of sites on leased servers. He didn't pay the bill. They shut off the servers. Thousands of site were shut down and a lot of data has never been recovered.
This is why I stay away from resellers and hosts that don't own their own servers.

I don't think that it's possible to praise a host before you've tried the for a couple of months, unless they was REALLY helpful with a MAJOR problem and did it in record time.

When someone is claiming Unlimited something, there is usually something hidden there. If what 773322000 is saying is true, then the hidden part is "they don't pay their bills".

"Note to potential posters: This thread has just been resurrected from May 2001"

The reason I resurrected this thread is to make a point. Hosting companies come and go.
One of our sites has been on five different servers in the last year. ( Netcraft (http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/graph?site=www.Just-Contractors.com&submit=Examine) )
See that graph? That's what bad hosting looks like.
The problem with this industry is a hosting company can pop up with minimum investment, and then go under in no time. And these fly by night hosts don't give a damn about the webmasters they screw over.
