Just wanted to get some opinions on who you guys use for heath insurance and what to look for.. I looked a little bit on the web but there is so much small print and gets somewhat confusing.. Basically when the time comes I will need both full medical and dental for two people age 25 non-smokers. I was just trying to get some rates and ideas on what to look for.. Someone told me look at about 600 a month for this but I just want to get a general idea of what everyone solution is as right now I get medical through work but hopefully will be able to go on my own full time in the near future.. thanks in advance.

Generally the best bet is to join an organization which has coverage for member companies, such as a Chamber of Commerce. Also, some states have guaranteed programs, although I don't believe yours does. For example, Florida has a program called, "CHPA", which provides options for any company of two or more employees.

I tried, the rates for me and my son (my wife gets it thru work free for herself) were reasonable, but they declined coverage because I take medicine for high blood pressure.

We use Cigna and are extremely happy.
7 employees
single coverage is very well priced
however if you look into family coverage it is rather expensive
we are able to offer $40.00 monthly health/dental/prescription single
but family ranges from $480 and up

We stayed on my wife's insurance thru work.
The plan was to get it and then once we got a feel for the quality get my wife onto it and then she could quit work and go to work for me, but until we're able to get insurance outside of her 9to5 then that's not gonna happen.

We both have Cigna now and the coverage has been great so I guess I will give them a call I just was not sure if there was anything to look out for or make sure to include as I have always just gotten medical through work..

I got mine though:

It searches a database of companies.
