I am planing on starting a web hosting review site or a web hosting directory. Currently there
are endless number of webhosting directories out there. What major features do you think is missing in
these sites? Do you think they are biased? what is the best way to classify and rate hosts? Any feed back
will be much appreciated.

Kickster, this is something that my developers are looking into also.
There are just so many projects out there, what you should think about is developing something or a system that no-one can match, yet everyone wants it.
We, just haven't got round to it.
Looks, like wireless projects are going to be the way to head in the near future.

I dont think people using mobile phones are interested in finding a good host? News yes but reading reviews and rating.. I dont think so. I may be wrong here!!
I think a very simple lay out, easy to navigate and limited number of hostings would be the best way. There is no need in adding several hundred hosting company where only a dozen provide good services.

I don't know mate, looking at the technology the Chinese/Japanese are coming out with it won't be long before we will be using wireless communications most of the time.
Apart, from mobile users take into consideration, *webtv* users and make user friendly sites that attract webtv users.

Hmmm... makes me wonder if I could develop an application that would login to different hosting directories and change my info for me... sounds like a lot of work though!
Kickster,
Avoid bias at all costs! It will give you a bad reputation and you won't succeed (well, you might succeed, but we won't like you :) ). If you can, use volunteers for reviews and spotlight hosts, as they have nothing to gain. If it is advertising, label it as such... meaning... don't provide sneaky advertising where it just looks like those hosts (advertisers) appear first in a search. Good luck!
Regards,
Michael
