Hi,

This guy was running vulnerable php scripts and his site was hacked and the hacker sent spam through his account. I disabled php access for his site and told him to fix his scripts... Now look what I receive:

**
This problem was caused by the virus Backdoor.NDad attacking MySQL database. We've fixed it. Thank you.
**

Hahaha.. I hope he doesn't think I am going to believe that! Especially since Backdoor.NDad is a windows NT backdoor unrelated to mysql... And even if it was true, how could he fix the problem himself.. I am running FreeBSD, not NT anyways..

Really, I should close his account, this guy is bull-****ting me and I dont want this kind of business... What do you think?

contact him informing him of the truth. See if he fesses up about the lie and BS he's feeding you. If he insists about making up stuff, give him his options, and take necessary action.

I'd dump him.
He sounds like trouble to me. First his account is spammed through, then he acts as if you're a total idiot and thinks you have no idea what you're doing - dump him.

You seem as if you don't want his business. Plus there is a possibility in the future he does the same, and then makes an even weirder excuse which is totally unreasonable with your software.

If you don't dump him, visit his website very often and try to keep an eye on him - I'd be very careful if keeping him aboard.

Just a thought, if something like this should happen again and you don't catch it soon enough for what ever reason you could end up in more touble than this one client is worth. For example: Blacklisted for spam, if reselling or renting a server you could have your account terminated due to TOS or AUP violations. Just some food for thought, does the client really pay that much that you would risk keeping them when the consequences can be those?

Please ignore any spelling mistakes or grammer problems, I haven't slept for over 36 hours.
