What's the strangest way that you've used a paperclip? Recently I've been taking them and jamming them in the back of my firewire drive to stop the annoying fan from rattling.

I was dating a paperclip for a while, back in the day, offcourse that was before they started making metal ones, its just too unhygenic to date a metal paperclip.

I undid one and used it to hang something up from the ceiling (hehehe)

Add a rubber band and a few balled up post-it notes and you have office entertainment for a few hours while the attorneys are all out at court.

A toothpick. Ate lunch at work and got this thing caught in my teeth, and there were no toothpicks in the office. So I used a paper clip as one.

They make great tools for a mac tech

use them to restart the first generation macs... or remove a cd

I use one to remove my trackball from the mouse and clean it.

Making a grasshopper...
Well if you don't know, you unbend it so it forms a triangle, then line the 2 edges up like a spring. When you drop it, it'll fly up to the ceiling if you make one good enough :) I'll make a video if ya'll never heard of it :stickout:

Rewdog, I was just about to post the same thing. I just never knew what they were called. The small, thin paperclips work the best.

Same as Rew and Phrozen... that is about the only useful thing I see in paperclips. I am really attached to my stapler and use that whenever I can :D

But those grasshopper things are fun when you are bored.

man we must all think alike - i too was about to post that.... except i find the large paper clips.... (the ones with little ridges on the edge) work the best

Lets see, getting thorns and splinters out of myself(heated it ofcourse to sterilize it) re-opened an ear piercing with one, and open my CD drive manually when I forgot to take the CD I need out and the CD drive is no longer inside my computer.

I used to experiment with the metal ones, to see how magnetic they could be. The longest chain of paperclips hold together only with magnetic force was about 5, I think.

I once used a paperclip as a dental tool, removing the paper wadding from the root of a tooth that was in the process of root canal.
