Am I correct in assuming that in cPanel if you add an add-on domain that it points to the customer's main domain? I have a customer who created subdomain A and is trying to point her add-on domain B to subdomain A (of a different name).
Can someone shed some light please?
Thanks for your help.

A parked domain points the customer's main domain. Add-on domains are domain names that point to subdirectories within your customer's account space. Same functionality as a subdomain, except that it's a separate domain.

Main Domain = example1.com
Addon Domain = example2.com
example2.com is setup as an addon domain from with the users control panel. example2.com then needs to have it's DNS changed to point to the server.
Addon Domain can be accessed 2 ways:
example1.com/example2
or
example2.com
lol, I think that's right :) Not logged in and checking to be sure.
Thanks for the explanation. Here'swhat she's doing. She created a subdomainA so it is subdomainA.mainsite1.com. She then says she added an add-on domainB and pointed it to subdomainA. Even that's confusing to me because I thought the subdomain had to be the same name as the add-on. So I'm not sure how she's pointing it.
Anyways, she says everything is OK until she password protects the subdomain, then images don't show up. (??) When she take the protection off, all is OK.

When she take the protection off, all is OK.Images obviously won't show up if the images are being referenced from another domain and the directory is password protected. Or odes the user mean that they have activated the hotlink protection, and the images don't show up when protection is on?

No, she actually password protected the subdomain.
