42% of clients represent the largest group of out source needs, and those 42% spend $1000 to $9000 per year.

How important is ping to these people?

If you are one of them, please indicate it at TOP for the Poll.

We are still looking at who to colo with, and would like to see some suggestions, or better yet, private message me, or email me who you are, and perhaps we should talk.

I say it depends on the application. If it's web hosting, the ping isn't all that important. The difference between 30ms and 150ms on a website isn't hardly noticable. Obviously you don't want 1000ms+ pings, but you also shouldn't consider the difference between 50ms and 60ms to be life threatening.

Good luck. :)

ping to some extent is just a measure of geographical distance between the two networks. So, it will be unreasonable for somebody in China to expect 100 ms to a server in US East Coast. Thus, I can't really answer the poll without knowing where your customers are from. But being in US East Coat myself, I would want my ping to be at most around 100 ms to a network in West Coast.

Which network is good? I am a bit biased, probably, but take a look at this SLA (http://internap.com/products/sqg.html) and tell me if you can find a better SLA. :)
