View Full Version : A reliable one for gods sake and Cheap!!!
Hi
I am currently hosting my sites on readyhosting. Their servers run ASP very slowly specially when you use ODBC DSN connections.
I am looking for one that gurantees > %99.5 with a resonable server performance.
Also I need a hosting that is not very expensive .
1-2 Gig
>25MB space
>10 POP3 and "SMTP"
ASP,PERL
And !!! not more than $100 per year.
Regards
Mac

Annette 05-19-2001, 12:59 PM Mac, if you want hosts to be able to respond to you and make you offers, please either turn on the email feature in your profile, or post in the advertising forum. If you don't want hosts to respond to you, but only other users, that's fine - this is probalby the place for that, except you'll run into posts like the one above.
You might also expand a bit on your post. Are you looking for an NT host, or can you use a *nix-based host that runs ChiliASP? Do you have any prospects in mind that other users can comment on for you? All of that would help a bit toward finding you what you need at the price (or near it) that you want.

If people could kindly modify their posts to reflect the altered post above and keep it on-topic please - thank you for your co-operation.
BRossMac 05-19-2001, 11:32 PM I don't understand a thing from this topic. What happened here...?

Sorry you don't like it, but it's the truth. You could just as easily have suggested exactly what I did. It's unfortunate you don't see why it's irritating to run into posts like yours (before it was removed, that is) - as Kiwi points out, it turns out to be just as bad as an ad itself.
Before this turns into just another thread that goes nowhere at all:
Mac - if you need NT, sorry. I don't use NT hosting (never have except in the corporate world), so I can't make any recommendations there. I seem to recal that your-site.com offers ChiliASP (they are linux-based). I know they have good pricing, quite cheap, and their support is good (I tested an account there before we set up our own shop). The owner, Jason, used to pop in and out of alt.www.webmaster a time ago - not sure if he still does that as I don't have the time I used to to read through newsgroups, but certainly someone in that group would be able to give you the scoop on them if they seem to fit what you need. I think BC has used an NT host in the past(?), so maybe he could chime in with something as well.
Good luck to you.

Tera-byte - www.tera-byte.com - offer ChilliASP on Cobalt and will set up an MS Access database on an NT server for you.

I did........ Unfortunately it was WebExpose, who has since been bought out by Cosmotek (http://www.cosmotek.net). Do a search on these forums for the latest comments.......
Adam_S 05-20-2001, 07:07 AM Annette> It was put there as more of a joke than anything.. No harm meant by it.. sorry if it upset you.
Hello
Thank you everyone for advice.
I think I have not asked my question in right place and have made some problem. Anyway excuse me in this case.
Regards,
Mac
Annette 05-20-2001, 10:49 AM Adam: sorry. I think I'm getting a little crusty due to all this crap spam that keep landing in my mailbox here, from the same person. 300+ pieces in two days is sending me over the edge. Obfuscated headers=no way to block it at the server level.
Mac, you're fine. But really, you should expand on your exact needs a bit more, so that other users can give you their experiences if they have a host that matches what you need.
Adam_S 05-20-2001, 04:39 PM Annette> That's ok... 300+ doesn't sound pretty.. good luck.
Mac> The best thing to do with WHT is find a host you think fits what you are looking for, then submit a query about whether its a good host to go for. If the response is good then go for it, else you had saved yourself from possible hassles, scams and the possiblility of losing much of your own money.
Hope this helps a little.
