Biggest in like how many servers they are hosting? I hardly think they are hosting anywhere near as many RaQs as tera-byte is hosting.

Based on the fact that ive never heard of Binaryblock i would say tera-byte, also tera-byte has always provided good service to its customers, so i for one would recommend tera-byte

well we currently host 1.2 million clients plus whatever of those people host (i have no idea what that number is)
my current capacity is 980 megs a second of throughput
our current utilization is around 140 megs a second of throughput
my current datacenter is 6500 sq ft which is essentially used up perhaps 1000 sq ft avaliable

i didnt see on their site where they claim to be the largest, but perhaps they are, my basis for stating we are the largest is the backbone providers in canada that have any substantial bandwidth claim we are their largest customers, so therefore we have pretty much got to be the largest in the country, cobalt also claims we have purchased more raq's from them than any other company here. (in the top 10 world wide)

Keeg, how long have you been in business? I do not have a webhosting company my self, just a RaQ3 with you for my own sites. But I am very interested to know how you managed to take your company so far. I do not know if this is a private subject, and if you do not like to discuss this then I apologize. Just thought it would be very interesting and I am sure a lot of the webhosts here would not mind a tip or two.

However,

I am familiar with the Canadian market and along with Terabyte there is another really large Canadian based provider

www.easyhosting.com which is part of Look Communications a publicly traded wireless Cable and Internet company.

I know they have in excess of 14,000 hosting accounts and over 110,000 registered domains all of which is public knowledge.

They support native NT and UNIX applications and don't use emulation tools like Chilisoft which can be very unreliable. They use a clustered hosting environment and do not have websites residing on single servers which means no single point of failure.

A pretty cool setup in my opinion.

BinaryBlocks.com is renting Cobalt RaQs from Datapipe.com. So their servers aren't even in Canada, and even if you count them as being in Canada I doubt their the biggest (if they claim to be, then it sounds like their the biggest in another category... BS).

I always figured Webhosting.com was the biggest in Canada, but maybe it's Tera-Byte?

Tera-Byte

What does this mean? Is this hosted websites?

If the above is correct than you are larger than Verio, IBM, and everyone else in the hosting business.

Webhosting.com is now an SBC company so technically you could say they are the largest in Canada in terms of total size.

Well I believe the question was who was the biggest in Canada. Dialtone is in Florida. And I'm pretty darn sure they're not the biggest in the USA anyway.
