. . . that I heard True Hosting's Death Rattle last month. But no, they're still kicking.

Burst, what the hell is going on?

Come clean. Did you buy this guy out, or not?

I'm still seeing this as of 6/13/2000:

Did you buy a company that doesn't exist?

Did you buy only his customer base?

What happens to people who sign up for TrueHosting? Do they get handled by you, and if so, then why is TrueHosting still registered to Peter/Davey/Annette/Bradley?

No flames, please. I just want this over with. I want the son of a bitch out of business and his customers -- past and future -- in responsible hands.

OOC: You should use the name:
'rm -Rf /weaselboy'

that extra 'force' option may be needed someday? ;)

I emailed Burst with that question 48 hours ago. Still no answer.

Sean? C'mon. Talk to me, babe.

Why do you all actually think that he will take the time to email you a response about this? Notice he hasn't posted here or at scriptkeeper lately? Why? because people just want to discuss things that have nothing to do with them.

Sorry, i know this issue is hot for many of you, but if you were a customer of TH, you should know by now who is the admin for your account and who you are being billed by.

Otherwise, it really doesn't matter. If Sean was smart, he won't start up this issue again, (nor should he have reponded on a public board in the first place).

If you don't like Burst, don't use them. If you think something is wrong then email them and ask. if you don't get a reply then go somewhere else.

I just don't get the whole fascination with this. If this topic somehow directly involves you, then please note, this message isn't meant for you. Sorry this whole message sounds harsh, it isn't meant to be.

Then speak up for yourself and tell us what is the story between you and TH?

Don't lie or cover up the story. Speak up becuase the people in the world deserve an honest answer.

Seems Sean is hidding all information which he doesn't want to share with others. Oh yeah, maybe he doesnt want to know if BurstNET is a loser or not? We'll see in the ahead of lives and see how it goes :)

No offend, Sean!

Let's see....

I need to pick a host for my domain. I'm going to choose:
a) a helpful, friendly knowledgable host that seems honest or...
b) a terse, brusque insulting host that tries to hide what seems to be shady dealings.

hmmm..... who should I choose....

I was a reseller for TrueHosting (I know, you all are probably thinking 'yipes!') and the move over to Burst hasn't been a smooth one, but thier staff has been very helpful in getting me setup and settled.

I never had problems with TH, but I knew that this would happen eventually and I was relieved that it happened with Burst and not an other company that wasn't capable.

I think the reason why the truehosting domain is still registered that way is because Network Solutions needs to have the owner transfer it or delete it, and as you can see by the record... it isn't complete (no phone number.. and is it even registered to a person or to a department?). That can bring on a bunch of problems in getting it transfered or even deleted. I don't know if this is the case, but it is a good possibility.

The link to the truehosting website has been removed from the main site, which makes me believe that it's a done deal. From the emails I've recieved from Burst, it looks like they have compeleted the database and TH is no longer in the picture. Clients who wished to remain with Burst have, those that moved on have also.

On a darker note...

I just got word yesterday that I can start reselling again. I am having problems because they don't seem to want to give me the option to customize the control panel. Seems the owner of TH didn't let them know this was a feature offered to the resellers.

I have been waiting a while to get back to business and this is just an other delay. I hope something gets done about this because well, we all read this and still can on the site 'BurstNET® will be honoring pricing/features previously held as a True Hosting client'. Since the CP thing looks like a misunderstanding (I assume it is mainly from TH's lack of details to Burst) I know this option will be given to the resellers as was promised in the end.

Just cut them some slack, they (the BurstNET staff) work really hard to keep their clients and the new TH bunch happy. I give them a hard time (in emails and ICQ) and they have been polite and helpful, which to me is a great sign. :)

Sarasota and Digit,

Now it is going to sound like I am sticking up for Burst, or have some sort of biased relationship with them. Trust me, this comes from common sense, nothing more...

You (as well as many others) seem to only see this topic through your own eyes. You want to know intricate details about something that has (in no shape, way, or form), ANYTHING to do with you you.

I still don't get it. I do understand people being unhappy with TH. And I do understand people upset at Burst for their problems. But why are you so interested in this???

Sarasota- he is hiding info from you? I don't think he realized he was obligated to tell you?

If you want to know about Burst's services, send 'em an email. Ask for opinions on this board. If you like what you see, sign up. If not, don't.

The tone of previous posts about this subject have forced Sean not to reply. He can't, and he won't. I am sure he regrets posting anything and due to a poorly written press release, he had to clear a few things up that were incorrectly stated.

Like I said, I don't work for (nor am associated with) Burst in any way. If fact, I am sure he won't appreciate the "help" much, but hope that everyone will understand why he isn't responding, and not feel that he is hiding something from you.

Somehow these posts of mine all end up with me sounding harsh. Really I don't intend them to sound as mean as they probably do. Sorry for that.

Just realize that if you owned/worked for a company, you wouldn't be posting replies either, and you should know why.

Chicken,

I don't have a problem with a company not wanting to share private information. I do have a problem with that company using a snotty, condescending rep.

Why he can't just say, "I'm sorry, but I'm not authorized to share that information" instead of getting snippy I don't understand, but Sean has been very unprofessional. That is my problem.

I can understand that. He lets it get to him personally, which isn't good. Nothing a good brewski (or five) and an hour away from a glowing screen can't fix though :)

If you get garbled support replies, you'll know he took my advice.

"Justht sthlet you're SMTPOP sthettingths to yerdomain.cothm..."

eh?
