I know most of you out there can probably install a forum with your eyes closed. However after monitoring what our customers needs we have decided to launch a forum installation service.

We offer an installation service for the following forums:

VBulletin
YaBBSE
PHPBB
Invisionboard
Ikonboard
UBB
YABB
XMB

The standard service includes the actuall installation of the forum on your server for $30.
We also offer forum setup as an extra and skinning of the forum.

If you are interested in this service please PM me

Wow, nice price. You should figure out what other scripts are popular, and come up with a price list on those too.

tazd9t9 - I recommend contacting all the forum producers, and offering your services directly to them, or ask for a link from their site. Outsourcing for $30 a shot would be of interest Im sure. Or reduce your price on installing and get the big bucks for add-ons/skins/custom jobs.

Good luck to you, sounds interesting indeed.

thequase maybe you should look at the $150 vbulletin charge to do it for you ;-)

Admittedly i wouldn't pay to have a forum installed myself because obviously i would do it myself, but I have had a lot of customers who are new to the web and find installing them very hard.

Even if someone did think of it sooner it doesn't matter. Like one site said I seen "We get the finest ideas from our competitors" :D

Do you think it would be worth setting up a site advertising this or just word of mouth?

What I'd do ..... if I had the time..... Search for a domain name with "forum" install, easy setup..... along those lines, and set yourself up with a little site.

Make it look official and plug those search engines. Put your past customers in there as a portfolio/reference, and off you go.

What the hell, it'll only cost you $xx and one or two installs would pay for that. Let it run, and move on to another project, letting that one tick over in the background.

Mind you, Im a techie. You're probably better off asking a salesperson.

Dont drop your rates, $30 is a good rate. It'll take at least an hour of your time, pre-sales, blah blah, ftp settings, fiddling etc.

It took me a whole weekend to add a few skins, smilies, an add-on for avatars etc etc. and thats where you should concentrate on getting the real money in.

Get their foot in the door with the install, then slap their wallets with the add-ons. register.com style.

Forums are getting very popular, and you're on the right track at the right time.

Vbulletin takes like 3 minutes to install, its just upload, edit config.php and then run install, I reckon if you hook in alot of vb installs for $30 each, you'll have a godmine :D
