Ok , as result of some actions , I should start a new topic-offer.

:look:
My Boss said : " Get me a good dedicated server...
:look:
PIII,linux,SSh, up to 500Gb monthly transfer , 256MB SDRAM, 10Gb SCSI ... "
:look:

Also ~350$/month ok for us.

Please post any ideas.

Thanx

Even if you count as low as $1/GB, it will cost the host $500 for the bandwidth only. I haven't seen anyone offer that kind of bandwidth for $350/month. You could probably get the server and 50-150GB! After that you will have to pay $2+/GB depending on your webhost.

Yes, you're right.
Anyway, P III with 256 MB, SCSI HD, and 500 GB for $350? Mmmmmmmmm....I don't think that you go to get it.
You are asking too much by very little amount of money.
I wish you good luck.

I could give you a quote for that, but kiko sounds like the cheapest.

Your asking for a lot with a small budget.

When I first started out as a reseller, I thought unlimited transfer was great.

Then when I moved to alabanza and now having my own rack, unlimtied transfer doesnt exist. It is a company banking on the little use of transfer on your end.

We are updating our site and taking that off,

Last time I checked there wasnt a OC-Unlimited connection.

Everybody must pay for the bandwith if anybody offer you unlimited bandwith .. mmmmmm... it look as a advertising trick, you can change unlimited for the amount that they consider reasonable
... and of course I think that 500 GB they don't go to consider it reasonable :D and they go to cancel your account or overcharge you CC.
Be really careful about the unlimited bandwith thing.

Bojer,

There is a thread called *why do we pay for bandwidth?* . Some interesting reading there. IF someone is offering unlimited bandwidth or anything even CLOSE to $1.00 GB (let alone less). They are probably doing one of the following.

1. Selling to a very large customer in terms of bandwidth usage. My cutoff for what I consider a very large customer is over 1000 GB.

2. Overselling their network.

3. Giving away a small amount of bandwidth to increase their customer base, usually 10-65 GB monthly. Then charging more for overages, typically $3.00-$10.00 per GB.

4. Do not plan on making a profit or being in business long.

5. Fill in the blank here.......

If it looks to good to be true it probably is.

Best Regards,
