Does anyone know where i can get free DSL for my computer? I understand that i have to buy the modem.

dslreports.com is very very useful. You may want to read through the rest of it if the freedsl part doesn't interest you. :)

I am going to look into this some, but always keep in mind, that you get what you pay for.

As Sesran stated perfectly, you do indeed get what you pay for.

Those free DSL companies got started before the bottom dropped out of the speculative dot com market. Once reality set in with investors a lot of companies offering "free" services disappeared. One was one that offered "free: Internet access and had those annoying "shouldn't it be a right to have free Internet access?" commercials. Those irksome commercials lasted longer than the company and were still airing after the company had folded. :D :D :D

Yeh, i see what you mean. Can't get much, or anything at all with 'free'. Probably better off with paying for what i want.
