And i dont know what it means
can someone tell me what this means or how i can put it right ?
Or are they just trying to cancel my account because i am using up the bandwidth i have paid for?
email:
Dear Customer, the domain #####.co.uk is currently breaching
>the terms of service for ##### Hosting. The account is leaving
>persistant SQL connections on, at this time there are 2 open
>connections lasting upto 5hrs long, each connection uses 4% of the
>server resources therefore you are using nearly 8% of the whole
>server.

>Please correct your scripts and disable this feature within 24hrs,
>as your account could be suspended on these grounds.

Hi CoolBlue,
Your host sounds like he wants to keep you as a customer...
He is simply asking you to clean up your MySQL calls. They are left hanging, and this is using up server CPU load that is doing nothing.
Your code must be using a persistant connection call, but not killing itself out.
if this is a script that you got from some site,, then go there, and contact them to see what can be done to fix the problem. It will make your program run better, and keep your host from canning you for stuck mysql calls too.
He is most likely looking out for the best interests of all the sites on the server. Fix your script, and all should be fine.
Have a nice day,
Tim L

The message board software is developed and owned by this hosting company
And i paid them to install it
I cant work out what i could have done to cause any problems ?
My site is at http://www.bluesforum.co.uk

I'm assuming you are using XMB/aventure hosting?
I highly recommend switching to other forum software (phpbb, invision, vbulletin etc). XMB, in my opinion, is poorly coded and is resource intensive for active forums.

They charged me to install the message board
Now they say they cant offer me advice or fix the problem unless i pay
Email:
we are unable to assist with such as issues, the site owner must correct this issues in the scripts which are causing these problems, if you are unable to fix this you must purchase an engineer session from us and our engineers will login and fix the scripting problems
Im not paying these clowns
And i havnt got a clue how to fix it myself

Write them back tell them that it is their software that is causing the problem and that you paid for it to be installed and you expect them to fix it free of charge. I am not sure who the company is but read their TOS regarding customer/tech support and find out if they talk about any charges. Let us know how it goes.

I told them that its there software causing these problems
And that they installed it
then they sent me the email in my last reply
and this :
You are using excess server resources and usage scripts which cause a decrease in server performance, these are violations of our terms.

Well, you should clearly states that the scripts was installed by them and you had paid for the installation. If they are unreasonable, I suggest you consider moving to a host. And as what others had mentioned, you should also consider a change of the forum software in future as XMB does cause issues.

I just read through their TOS there is a high usage clause there but nowhere in there it says about charging you for tech support. It looks like you have several choices
1) Swallow the original charge and install a more reliable script such as phpbb.
2) Be persistent and tell them that it is their responsibility and not yours to fix the misbehaving script since it was written by them.
'
3) Run :)

Ive got a better idea :D
Im going to tell them to fix the problem free
Or they can ram the message board and hosting account up their A@@holes

I will let you know how it goes
