Hi,
Which virtual hosting provider is generally considered to be the best provider? Just like RackSpace is considerred to be the best provider of (managed) dedicated hosting.
Is there such a provider, where quality is measured with (like RackSpace)?

Whoops, when I saw the title of this thread, I thought you meant you were looking for a shared hosting provider who would let you spam like a rabid monkey unfettered. My bad.
Lots of good shared hosting providers out there. Off the top, here are a few that I would check into solely based on their reputation and the way they represent themselves in the forums and elsewhere. My basic belief is that where you find decent people, you will find a conscientiously-run company.
futurequest.net (as previously mentioned)
hostmatters.com
akashik.net
racknine.com
That's obviously a short list and is not meant to be all-inclusive.
Regardless of what recommendations you do receive, it's still up to you to thoroughly check into the company you're considering before laying your money on the table. It's also important not to confuse slick salesmanship with professionalism. Everybody's your best buddy when they're trying to sell you something - it's how they treat you in the long run that counts. In that respect, the "search" function on this forum can be your best friend come decision time, as some "respected" names have been known to let their true colors show when their guard was down.
Best of luck.

pair.com probably falls into that category; it isn't discussed here very often, but any company which hosts 140,000 sites and doesn't provoke complaints qualifies as pretty good in my books.
pair.com is pretty expansive, but i also think you pay for quality this time, never heard compaint on them

I'd have to put my money on most (if not all) of the companies already mentioned. If i had the money, i'd go with pair

Pair.com is good, but expensive.
There are a lot of good hosts here @ WHT aswell, like futurequest, httpme, voxtreme, etc

I'd have to go with Futurequest.net as well. Similar to Rackspace is many many ways as far as the level of service.
