I think I was just scammed by McElHost. The course of events:

(Feb 5) I emailed McElHost asking if he was willing to design a logo for me. He said sure, and asked for payment up front -- perfectly resonable. I immediately paypal'd $10.00 over to him.

(Feb 6) McElHost emailed me asking for some specifications on the logo.

(Feb 9) I email McElHost, asking for an ETA on the logo. I noted I was just curious, there wasn't any rush. No reply.
