View Full Version : Web Hosting's toilet
WebHostingTalk.com's slogan should be "Post a message and get slammed from all angles!"
HostInvestigator seems to be infested with hateful, grudge holding people with blind rage towards all (especially web hosts). Oh, wait, thats what Web Hosting is all about!
How about some constructive discussion for a change.

Tee, hee!
Actually, I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. The problem is, there are so many hosts with problems out there that the majority do seem to get slammed for whatever (and usually substantiated) reasons.
But the vast majority of us around here prefer to discuss a host on its own merits and make recommendations (or dissuasions) for hosts.
However, these following topics will most certainly get a whinge from someone :
1. Any mention of TrueHosting, Peter Francis-McRae/Davey/whatever persona and any related material
2. Advertising/spamming. There is a forum specially for advertising, so use that instead of being a waste of oxygen.
3. Abusive posts that are either off-topic or rants with no particular focus (or unsubstantiated lies). Remember the ones we had last week?
4. Any host that has had a long history of crap service, repeated billing problems (or rip-offs), non-existent features, uninformative/unreadable AUPs/TOSs that are inaccurate/lying their pants off.
5. Unlimited bandwidth. Puh-lease.
'Nuff said.
Duster 06-11-2000, 01:32 PM ha,
Posts like yours have the same lack of value as some of the ones you are protesting about, and even less than most. Many are characterized by a a lack of enough intestinal fortitude to sign one's name to them.
You won't find any constructive discussion because you're not looking for it nor are you willing to see it. If that were not true, you would have seen a great deal of it. In fact, at least one company that I know of has benefitted from constructive discussion and criticism.
BC has sumnmed it up quite well. What many of us do is help each other sort through the lies and longlist of inferior companies (and they are legion) to select one that says what it will do, and does what it says. They are harder to find, though well worth the effort.
Besides, you should know that a toilet does not create excrement, it is created elsewhere. A toilet only flushes them down the tubes and disposes of it. The excrement is created by all the inferior companies, and we help give them the flush they deserve. The sooner they are processed and completely gone from the system, the better for all of us.

I beg to differ, with posts like the recent Burlee Fraud hoax it just goes to show you that it takes two to tango. The problem with this market is just as much the customers fault and responsibility as it is the web hosting companies.
ha,
You're just pissed because you were so ignorant to SPAM this forum, and you were criticized. If you took the time to read the rules (or had any common sense), you would have seen that there is an entire category dedicated just for your kind of post.
Don't take your hostility out on us just because of your stupidity.
Duster 06-12-2000, 12:51 AM ha,
You make it easy to discredit everything you say by being so totally and overwhelmingly wrong.
I just read the Burlee fraud post and all replies and I saw doubts that it was legitimate and then confirmation that it wasn't. Members of this forum rose to the defense of a company with a good reputation.
That was hardly the blind rage you imagine.
The web hosting companies have to shoulder the greater share of blame for problems as they created most of them. By promising what they couldn't possibly deliver, committing outright fraud, treating customers poorly and badly, the many companies that are characteristic of those abhorrent practices created unrealistic expectations among many as well as incurring their wrath.
Many of these companies are the equivalent of the worst of used car salesmaen, another group that created their own problems.
Your remarks seem to put you in their company, so save your protests. You deserve whatever you get. What you send around, comes back around.
The person who started this thread is the same person who spammed the board (messages now removed to admin forum) about resellermatrix. He is obviously annoyed that we removed the messages. I wouldn't do business with a company that posts advertisements to a public forum.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.
My company? Your are mistaken, as usual. I am simply a reseller of theirs and I thought I'd help others get into reselling. You BLINDLY assume it's an ad/spam and rant and rage.
I am disgusted at your slander toward companies you have no experience with. You should be ashamed of yourself.
ha, you are precisely missing the point. We are *not* interested in becoming resellers! We are here to discuss web hosts, not try to enter resellers. If we were really serious, we would have posted something to that extent, and then a post like yours would have been acceptable.
You need to understand that your post was :
1. unsolicited - no one asked about reselling!
2. against the spirit of the forum - it's for discussion, NOT for reseller solicitations
Of course, none of this would have happened if you read the *rules* of the forum first and adhered to them.
I should also add that from the vast majority of users' experiences here, the number of web hosting companies out there to make a quick buck and 'fleece' its customers of quick money before disappearing seem to *far* outnumber the number of customers trying to con the companies out of their features. Remember, the hosts control the hardware/software, not the customers.
(ouch - I'm starting to sound like Gordon! hehe)
I rest my case.
