Hi,
I am investigating Superlink.net dedicated server plans and have one concern that their servers have only 2 or 4GB RAID drives:
http://www.superlink.net/internetsuite/services.html
Sounds very suspicious. I asked them if this is truly dedicated or "virtual dedicated" server but did not get any answer. They provide root access, but I know it is possible to emulate several servers with root access on one physical machine.
Anyone to help clarify?

Looks like a virtual dedicated plan to me. When it says "Server Resources" it tells me that you will be sharing the actual server with someone else.
They also mention 3 levels of control panel. I would ask them which control panel their using. That should help you figure out whether or not it's a true dedicated server or a virtual dedicated server.

As there are no 2 or 4GB RAID drives (at least at these days :) ) its very likely that this is no real server. And I don't think they will buy a 18 GB drive and make the partition a size of only 4 GB.

Sounds like an oxymoron to me.

This is simple. Don't make this too hard. Just plain out ask the question, is this an actual dedicated server (dedicated hardware) or a virtual server (shared hardware). If they don't answer go elsewhere. It's that simple, if they want your business they will get back to you quickly and be honest about it. Don't do anything until you get the answers you want. SIMPLE!

What surprises me that companies like Superlink put a lot of money into advertising (I found them by following the link from Google sponsored listings) and fail to put minimal effort into turning prospects to sales.

Virtual servers are actually a pretty good way to go for anyone not using a lot of traffic, like over 400-500 GB monthly. We do not really sell those yet but have been looking into using zeus webserver just for that option.
Has anyone here worked with zeus before? Comments etc would be great to hear.
Best Regards,
