View Full Version : Dedicated servers... that can beat Burst's??

Anyone know where I can get a good dedicated server? I wouldn't in my wildest dreams consider using anyone else but BURST for my dedicated server needs, because I have a great trust base with them, but Burst is not so open to any deals, or unique plans, anymore, aside from their specials which I know can be beaten by another service (hopefuly)

If anyone has any offers for me.. I am very good at making payments in a timely manner, and am always good for the money, so that's not a problem.

I will need >500mhz , >128 RAM, >50GB Transfer. -- $100 - 250 Monthly (can you try and beat burst's deal(s)?)

I still don't see where any of those beat burst.net's deal if you consider cpanel and whm. Am I missing something? 0setupfees has a good price but I couldn't find any mention of any type of control panel or any extras.

@ $249 for 800Mhz, 256 megs, 60 gig HD, and 50gb with cpanel and webhost, it's been the best deal I've seen. If anyone has anything in particular that's better please share.

I would prefer VO at http://www.venturesonline.com/Dedicated_Servers/dedicated_servers.html

$200/mo: 866Mhz, 128 MB, 20 GB HD, 25 GB traffic
$300/mo: 866Mhz, 256 MB 30 GB HD, 50 GB traffic

because RAM upgrade is a ONE-TIME fee and WHM/CP are included

I'm not trying to split hairs with ya :) but to get the same system with same bandwidth, venture is $50 more (yes theres is 66 mhz more but 66mhz will practically not be measurable). PLUS $300 setup for the same system that burst has ZERO setup. And their onetime fee for memory upgrades is quit a bit more money, so for that difference you can upgrade your burst server to a BIGGER system with more bandwidth.

Now I'm not arguring. I'm not a PRO burst.net supporter here but I have recently put in an order for a server. I haven't gotten it yet. But if someone has a better deal I'd switch.. even not having gotten the server yet or afterwards since they have a money back guarantee.

Plus the most notable thing I've heard lately from burst is their bandwidth perfomance. It seems to be excellent.

rastoma,

How come you did not get your server? Or did you already at this time?

Watching closely 'cuz I was also planning to get one.

I think Burst.net is awsome. Since I order alot of dedicated servers, I use burst alot.

I got a deal somewhere else for 2 systems,

500mhz celeron Each
128mb SDRAM Each
15GB Transfer Each
32 IP's Each

$200 Setup, $200 Monthly, all together. If the service is poor compaired to burst, im just going to order them w/ burst in the future. I think overall I like pwebtech, dialtone, burst, and inihosting.com the most?

I would also consider using vdi.net but they got some poor ratings going for them?

All the companies listed are of quite good quality but dont forget about us...

Our first server is a:

PIII 933
256mb of Ram
9gb SCSI
Unlimited IP's (must be justified under ARIN regulations)
Ensim Cpanel
100 gb of transfer
No setup Fee

$275 per month

If you want a IDE drive we can do that also and it will be less...

got the server today from burst. awesome!

great performance.. nice setup.

had two minor things that got fixed with minutes.

had a license problem with cpanel and webhost manager.

sent an email. got a reply in 4-5 mins. it was fixed.

i was supposed to get 10 ip's initially... only had 5. sent an email. 10 mins later had 5 more ip's on my server.

very cool

They are a bit quicker w/ you then they are with me. Sean has been very lenient to my constant emailing requesting this and that.. I think for the most part everything I wanted done was done quick enough, to where it didnt interfer with business.. im waiting on a memory upgrade, but i guess they also are waiting for a shipment of memory.:bawling:

Ensim alows the creation of accounts

What ensim doesnt due is offer the automation like Cpanel. It cant create a reseller control panel.

Overall Ensim is just as good.

We use ensim on all of our servers.

We are actually looking to start offering cpanel with some of our servers.
