Hello,
I am currently using plesk with qmail. I am getting multiple returned mail messages which make it appear that someone is spamming through my smtp server in plesk. I am having trouble tracking it down. I have smtp requires authentication set is this the best I can do. I want only domain names on this server to be able to send mail through this server please help me I am in big trouble here.

Bad thing is i can't tell whats going on with it.

Here is what keeps getting sent back to us. They all seem the same but can't tell what user is sending it qmail does not do t good on that..LOL

Me to i hate to get it much less trying to use one of our servers to send it.. flamethrow :kaioken:

Who is mpence@vortechhosting.com

He is the admin of the box. He has a e-mail account on that box. Thas what lost me as its from was all ways his, Relay is truned off so i am so lost. All uses have to give a user name and password to send any e-mail..

Do you have vpopmail? If so, do you have --enable-roaming-users=y set when you did "configure"?

There are instructions on how to do this in INSTALL (in the vpopmail package). You can clear out the qmail queue in /var/qmail/queue if there are masses of emails that keep bouncing.

Also, you may consider banning the IP address of the spammer (if you find it say in /var/log/qmail) from your server.

Hmm..I get this too when people message/mail me through scripts like VBulletin and FormMail. I use Plesk as well.

Look for formamail scripts, its going through one of those.

Check your Autoresponders. It sounds like you may have a loop created from a bounced message or another auto-responder. Check your Qmail logs and if it is a loop shutdown qmail find the source of the problem and turn of the Autoresponder. Then restart qmail. This should fix the problem.
