Just wondering if anyones ordered business cards online before? If so, where, and what was the quality like?

Weve used local printers before, but im assuming we can get a better deal online this time around.

A friend of mine Makes business cards, we order all of our cards through him. The quality is superb, glossy finishes, front and back, and at a very good price. He's not very up on the e-commerce 'n such for selling his things online, but if you visit his sites www.45graphics.com and/or www.therightclik.com you can get his phone number and give him a call, he does fast work, and i think the last time we ordered cards, it was like $150 for 2000 cards. I don't get a cut or anything, just suggesting him. I have to emphasize his quality though, i mean, these cards are very high quality. I get compliments on mine all the time, and people asking me where i got them.

Might be worth looking into for you.

Just take my word for it, they make the best full color cards out there. Nobody can do what they do cuz they own their patented process. The quality blows away anything I have ever seen, and they are reasonable to the public. (their primary business is selling cards to national re-sellers)

I've used iPrint (www.iprint.com) without any problems. I've seen the VistaPrint cards - and I find the iPrint cards to be superior (thicker card stock, better card stock choices [laid, etc.], card stock color choices, better graphic library).

A couple of personal taste notes:
o I prefer raised ink cards.
o I do not like full color designs or most of the particial color at places like VistaPrint. They do not look nearly as professional to me. (I saw one person's full color design and I thought he was in the porn business - for which he took offense.)
o I don't mind "cleverness" - cards made from wood (and yes - there is a place on the web to get them), metal cards, etc. These all help leave a postive lasting impression.

I mention my personal tastes solely for the purposes of providing a background to judge my recommendations.

I simply make them myself, did the design then went to officemax and bought 250 business cards for 10$ and when you print they print perfectly onto the special paper, works great for me

Just about all places are great. I have used VistaPrint and I think they were pretty good. I do plan to try someone eles for my new cards.

Vistaprint does seem to have the best prices, however it seems like they use a thinner card stock then most places. They use 14pt, while most use 10pt.

If you're looking for attention to detail and/or customized cards, www.firstclassproducts.com - or call him (Mike) 518-355-7566 .

He does some of the nicest cards I've seen - not all cards are available online, he did our full color "photo" cards in less than a week, at a relatively inexepensive price. He's a small shop, and able to provide the attention to details you'll appreciate.

Ok, that was my 2cents. Yes, he's my customer, but he's damn good at what he does.

If you're just starting off and need something to hand out to people, vistaprint.com is the way to go. However, once you get rockin, it'll be time to design your own cards and have them professionally printed on nice paper =)

FYI, Vistaprint.com does a LOT Of spamming, no idea if it's them doing it, but they have many affiliates doing it.

Agreed. I think its very unprofessional to use a template for your business cards. Vistaprint allows you to upload your own artwork, however once we went through all the setup, we found so many extra costs that it barely saved us $20 from what we were paying our local print shop for a little bit thicker stock. Ship time was also 10 days minimum for vista.

We decided to just stick with our local again this time around.

I've ordered cards from VistaPrint twice and love them. I design them myself in photoshop and then upload a TIFF. Their price is very fair for what they provide and everyone I've ever handed my card to has commented on how nice they look and has asked where I get them done.
