View Full Version : Where's weinbar?
jndas 05-16-2001, 12:27 PM I signed up for an account with them two days ago and am yet to receive an email from them confirming anything? Prior to that I sent several emails with questions about their specifications and didn't get any reply from them.
Again, after signing up, I asked about my account through their help page. But that didn't get any reply either.
Isn't it too much to wait two days without them even acknowledging that you exist, or that they charged your credit card, or that they don't like the color of your shoes or something?
With Aletia hosting, they sent me replies to my question in about 15 minutes! Maybe it was my mistake for trying Weinbar first.
Anyway, I am still waiting for my account to be confirmed. Weinbar, if you are reading this, please send me an email.

Annette 05-16-2001, 12:43 PM Lighten up, dude. He's already said he didn't get a response from what he sent through their help page. He's probably wondering if anyone else is having the same sort of problem that he is.

I think you need to learn to read. Go back to the message above and reread it.
Last time I checked this board was for talking about webhosting. So it is good for people to tell the experiences they have had, that way other people like your self may be able to avoid the same occurences.
And besides, this is one of the few places where Weinbar people actually reply!
Anyway, I think its time for your nap.
Veoweb 05-16-2001, 01:30 PM Was wondering.... why when someone has a problem with weinbar, do they have to let the whole world know, I can understand if someone cheated you out of your money, but little petty issues should be left to you and the host. I hope I am not coming across too strong, I don't meant to insult anyone.
Jndas, this is not meant for you in particular, rather it is addressed to everyone on the WHT.
thewitt 05-16-2001, 01:44 PM Seems to be a pretty common thread here.
If you are not happy with a hosting company, post it here and get a reply.
Not in support of the practice particularly, but it's a very common occurance.

cbaker17 05-16-2001, 01:53 PM Im a little concerned about whats wrong with weinbar too. They use to be a top notch company and now ive been hearing thread after thread of negative comments. I dont see any reason, why a customer of weinbar shouldnt come in here and aks if anyone else is having problems, he/she wasnt rude about it.
WaffenSS are you having a break down, whats was that all about???
(SH)Saeed 05-16-2001, 01:55 PM I don't see anything wrong with jndas posting this thread to find out if anyone knows what's going on with WeinBar.
WaffenSS, please watch your language. This is not the place for that kind of words.
Sesran 05-16-2001, 02:47 PM I would think that maybe there may be a problem. My first instinct is wondering if something could be wrong with him.. Maybe he got sick or something. I am concerned, he has been really involved in this forum and I have heard nothing but good stuff about him.
cruiming 05-16-2001, 03:06 PM I really wonder what's happening at Weinbar.... Weinbar's tech support have stopped answering questions four days ago.....:(
Synergy 05-16-2001, 03:27 PM I think the problems would be resolved soon. As you can see there is no such perfect company out there yet.
(SH)Saeed 05-16-2001, 03:34 PM I emailed WeinBar's support to cancel both my accounts. I guess my emails will be answered last, hehe :D
WeinBar is alive and well. We are undergoing some internal changes right now. We had to make some decisions on the tech support side, so we had to let some people go. But, on the brighter side, things will be getting better real soon with the addition of newer, higher qualified and more techs than ever before.
And Zolbian: We did cancel your accounts and full credit for both have been issued. Thanks for trying us out!
(SH)Saeed 05-16-2001, 03:53 PM Michael, Thank you. I did not cancel my account because WeinBar is not good, you're actually one of the fastest host I've even been with in USA. However, as you already know I was looking for a dedicated and found one. No point in having shared accounts anymore.
PS. I don't think a cancelation confirmation email would be to much to ask for, would it?
Cheers
Nope, not at all. We are in the process of finishing up our account automization process and that would have gone to you automatically had it been finished.
OK, well best of luck with the dedicated!

It will probably continue as long as it works. :)
Within a few hours of posting the message here I got a reply from them.
And it is good to hear other's opinions about the company.

Experiences?
This board only gets complains and stupid experiences this is a complain department not a webhosting conversation.
So don't tell me about what peopel post here.
montini 05-16-2001, 07:44 PM Well , WaffenSS .... if you don't like Weinbar, don't go with Weinbar...
if you don't like WHT don't post messages in WHT...
it's simple ... :)
Well ... strange nickname also ...
Waffen=guns.. (in german)
SS= ..we all know ......
Weinbar's pages are very very fast ....
but with my small experience it's not only the speed that makes the web hosting company...( *****s has a good speed but.. but.. but.... :) )
Guys on Weinbar watch out with this issue , technical support, cause it it the MOST IMPORTANT...
I've seen small companies getting clients from others because they make them feel safe even with a T1 .......
and large <vdi , or alabanza > loosing even more just because they stopped "communicating" with the clients at a critical point...
As I'm considering hosting a dedicated with you guys at Weinbar I think you should be really careful with that :)
I always believed in good relationship with the client and no "corporate" stupid stuff..
That goes of course to all of us involoved in hosting/designing biz :)
:homer:
I absolutely agree wholheartedly. This is why we went out and hired more tech support personnel (will be online by the end of the week). We have also let go some of the other non-performing technicians.
XTStrike 05-16-2001, 08:26 PM OK, i havent typed much about Weinbar recently, and i am sure most of you are fed up of me by now :o
So, Weinbar has been fast, reliable, and have so far done everything technically that is required of them (very quickly may i add)
They have recently added a forum on their web page, this can be dangerous, as potential clients get to see a full history of the company and is a brave committed move by weinbar.
Although I must admit the communucations are a big thing with WeinBar and something I agree they must get right every time. even down to confirmation e-mails that the work has been done, for example:
I sent a request for a DNS addition, it was added within 5 minutes, I made a mistake and asked for a correction, this again was corrected within 5 minutes, as soon as the work was completed it was posted on their bulletin board :D (great work)
It made me so happy that it went right and the entire procedure went smothly.
Although I am not one to comment on the setup procedure as i do not think, in hindsight it would be a good idea, since my experiences were under unusual circumstances (NOC Router Failure).
As WeinBar are restructuring for the better I say we should give them a month to get it all sorted before we shout out in anger, I know it seems strange me saying this as I am probably the one that started all these posts about WeinBar after their NOC failure, I know alot of people are not going to see it in the same light as i do now, maybe WeinBar should post an internal company breakdown and restructuring plan on their web site, maybe this will allow clients to see their current predicament and how they are working to resolve it. how does this sound to you Mich?
Well thats it, my last post of the day, im off to bed, cya all tomorrow!

Zolbian and others, user has been banned, sorry for not getting to it before you all saw it. We agree.
xstrike,
Very well said :) I could not have done it better :). Ever since that major NOC router failure, my site is up all the time. just a couple of 5 minutes thingy.
As a customer point of view, i had signed up 3 new accounts with them since 20 April. On my 3rd account which i signed up yesterday, i have an automation billing emails. I learned that Weinbar had a new sign up script & billing script as well. This is for the better.
As for support, i must say that there are lack of it. But Michael has 4 new technician coming on 18 May & definately there will be a major improvement. The old ones flamethrow :bawling:
Dont have to give them a month i think, give them a week or two for the techs to get to know the NOC & i shall personally update you guys with the support issues.
