View Full Version : Go Daddy Registar Email Problem
MikalS 02-02-2003, 02:06 AM | Ok, I just purchased a email account with them, to go along with the domain I purchased and I want to set it up with outlook express and I was wondering what do I type in for the pop3 and smpt address for it?
I emailed them several times and I have yet to hear from them so I'm hopping someone on this board knows the answer. |
allan 02-02-2003, 03:29 AM Did you go through this process:

MikalS 02-02-2003, 07:27 AM yep been to those 2 urls above and still no go.
heres the error i get in outlook.
The host 'mail.mikals.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'mikals', Server: 'mail.mikals.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11002, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D |
allan 02-02-2003, 07:34 AM Well, just like the error says, you have to create an A record for mail.mikals.com and then set up your MX records to point to that.
Now, I am doing a whois -- did you register the domain mikals.com? It is not showing up in the whois information yet. If you did register it, but just did it last night then you need to give it up to 48 hours before it becomes active. If you registered it more than 48 hours ago then you have a different problem -- you should talk to godaddy.com about that. |
greggish 02-02-2003, 08:35 AM As allan pointed out the domain doesn't show up as registered in the whois. According to Godaddy's whois the domain is unregistered... and since you registered it with Godaddy it should be in their database pretty quick.
