I would like to start reselling but I need a host that can handle all the tech and support questions. My part would be to set up the account the invoice. Is there any good hosts out there that does a thing like this?

Anyway, the reason you get a discount for reselling (please correct me if I'm wrong) is because you provide support and admin. If you go w/ Site5.com (just because I looked @ them) you can pay them $130 a month to provide support for your resold customers. If you don't want to deal with support or don't know enough (like me) I would recommend a referral thingy.

That's correct-
The reason that resellers get discounted rates is mostly because the reseller does the support and billing... This takes a bit of a load off the hosting company, since they only have to bill and provide support for one client.

Usually, hosts will support the resellers, but not the resold clients themselves... In other words, the resold clients will email you for support, and if you do not know the answer to a question, you can always email your host. The host would then email you a response, which you would in turn pass on to your customer.

So, in a way, any host with a reseller program could provide support- you would just have to act as the first point of contact for the customer, and handle the easy questions and the ones you know the answer to. :)

The good news is that there are hosting services with reseller programs that will provide anonymous tech support via toll-free number to your resold clients.

The bad news is that the only one that comes to mind that offers this service is *****. Surely there must be others (and if there are, I'm sure they'll get posted here).

I've been looking @ resellers and noticed that Site5 (http://www.site5.com/programs/resellers/pricing.html) allows you to buy customer support/help that is branded for you company. It costs I thingk $130 and up.

Yes, they do provide that... but for a bit more then you are thinking...

It's $100 setup and $130/month + $1/month per client... meaning if you have 300 clients... it costs you $430/month... which in my opinion isn't a great deal.

I belive BurstNET offers a very similar offer but the monthly fees are cheaper... I think.

I originaly thought it was $1/client one time fee, but it's per month and that alone convinced me not to do it.

I'm about to sign up with RevenueHost.com - they offer good plans, and do provide a "branded" online support desk that they staff.

They have an option of 800# support as well, but it's a bit pricey I think.
