I am currently looking for a host. It is my first time (Yes, a virgin) so I am a little gun shy. I think I have found three options but now want to know how I can check them out before I pay. What do I do now?

Here are the three I am looking at.

- Hasweb.com – (Business plan) 1 GB storage, 13 GB transfer, $69.95 a year

- Aokwebhost.com – 1 GB storage, 10 GB transfer, $8 a month
- LREhosting.com – 1 GB storage, 10 GB transfer, $8 a month

OnStage, I haven't used any of the companies myself but nonetheless I do have some input that is of some value.

Hasweb.com is (according to their front page) a division of a company called HostDime, who is noted for the type of behaviour and lack of professionalism found on this thread:

Since you "haven't been touched yet" why are you looking for such a large plan?

I had a 500 Meg Account with my old host before I decided to get into the Web Hosting biz, and It was more then enough for me...

Anyways...

I went and searched these forums for those three, and found nothing... So, don't as me...

From what I have learned around here, cheaper isn't always better because hosts normally skimp on support and other things...

What I am planning on offering, is basically 800 Megs, for 20 a month... That is what I am planning on offering... So, I don't see how these hosts can go so low...

My Advice, the 69 buck one has more bandwidth... But, I don't know...

Probably the best thing you can do is post in the requests forum and have hosts bid on you then do a search on the hosts you like the most to see if they have good or bad reviews. Just my advice.

I would like to offer this disclaimer though... What I said about hosts skimping, may not always be the case, that is just what I have picked up from here...

get something month by month to start, if u like them after about 3 months, then maybe go annually...but not off the getgo
