What is Web Hosting Mag?
Webdude 05-15-2001, 10:14 PM For those of you who dont get the magazine....
http://wzpro.net/ch.jpg
Hosts get a free subscription to it. You just have to fill out their form to get it. They screwed up this month...I got 3 copies.
Travis 05-15-2001, 10:55 PM I've pretty much taken to throwing that mag in the trash before even opening the baggie it's in.
I haven't found anything associated with the ISPCheck people to be all that useful or on-the-level.
Annette 05-15-2001, 11:09 PM Hoo-rah. A man after my own opinion.
"Oh, look, the newest WHM. Fodder for the recycle bin."

Your lucky. People complain about not receiving theirs. Now I know what happens to those missing magz! :)
CRAVIS 05-16-2001, 01:29 AM If you need some valuable and free information for our business, just type http://www.webhostingtalk.com and click "Go" :D
You don't need WHM.
Webdude 05-16-2001, 02:27 AM Generally they only talk about their advertisors...so I think their advertisors are the only ones that read it. Between the magazine and the fact I have clients that switched over from many of them, I have learned a lot about how these large companies are doing. Most of them have a huge turnover in clients. So they have to spend more in advertising to keep more coming in that whats leaving. That provides a huge advantage to newer or smaller hosts.
I would never advertise in, or even want to be mentioned in a magazine that goes to all my competitors. I'm not that stupid..
AlaskanWolf 05-16-2001, 02:52 AM I agree 100%
Most of the time, they do articles on their own advertisers. I find usually one article more or less amusing each month.
Nicholas Brown 05-16-2001, 03:29 AM hey, its something to read when Nature calls ;)
Travis 05-16-2001, 04:15 AM If I need something to read in the can, I think I'd rather read the back of a shampoo bottle. :)

LOL!
Webdude 05-18-2001, 11:11 PM Actually they send multiple copies to people least likely to read them, and then tell the people who didnt get theirs..."Ooops! So Sorry! Maybe next month." Hehe
If they read this, I probably wont get anymore. But my intention is to get only ONE, not a case load.
Do they hold (or plan on holding) the WHExpo each year at the same location and time? If so, we got at least 5 people planned to go next year.
MichaelD 05-21-2001, 11:26 PM Just received my first issue...
I wasn't overly impressed by it... but it did have some useful info in it. Also, it's free, so I won't complain.
I received this email on the 2nd regarding subscriptions...
Howdy y'all,
You're receiving this because you signed up for a Web
Hosting Magazine subscription - possibly as long ago as
1999!
Over the months, the number of undeliverable magazines and
complaints about unreceived copies have reached the point
where the poor folks in our circulation department have gone
nuts. So we're doing spring cleaning!
NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, DON'T REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE! READ ON.
1. Please send your mailing address to update@whmag.com if:
- you have not been receiving your copies of the magazine
- you moved recently and have not yet sent us your new
address
- someone at your office keeps stealing your magazines and
you'd like them to get their own (please include their
names)
2. Please send your name, company name and address to
delete@whmag.com if you no longer wish to receive
Web Hosting Magazine.
3. If you have other comments, concerns, news about your
company you'd like to announce or just want to talk to a
nice, lively human for no particular reason, email us at
editors@whmag.com - or better yet, call your travel agent
and make plans to meet us at Web Hosting Expo
(http://www.whexpo.com) in DC in August!
Ciao,
The Web Hosting Magazine crewHmmm... doesn't really say what to do if you're getting too many! :) I am guessing if you send an email to the "update" address they will take care of it... maybe!
Regards,
Michael
miicchael 05-22-2001, 12:39 AM just read their editorial... I have never come across such unprofessional rubbish.
